How do you promote links on Reddit without getting banned?

Once your account has some history and credibility, you can start subtly. Don't drop direct links in comments or posts right away.

Links tend to get deleted either way if comment but sometimes they stay

  1. Use old accounts with a clean track record
  2. Slowly warm up accounts without recent history
  3. Don't reuse previously banned links or content
  4. Don't pick fights with users, they will follow you and report your content
  5. Use a clean internet connection. Free or super cheap proxies get flagged

Been promoting links by sharing infographics in niche subs and hiding my site in a subtle watermark, zero bans since I started.

Can you show me an example of how it's done? It could be a comment URL, for example.

I got a 40+ upvotes (no downvotes) and i made a drawing with my website address in 4 places. lol 3k+ views? easy peasy. Stop thinking like spammers, and think like creative value adders. There is a difference like you wouldn't believe.

I’ve been testing different subreddits for traffic, but even soft mentions of my site get flagged. For those doing Reddit marketing, what’s your safest strategy to share links or drive traffic without breaking rules?
Are you trying to place affiliate links or just normal links ? Coz for both of them you need to use different strategies. For affiliate link its better to use deep links from google entities as they will not be flagged as spam quickly. If you are trying to place normal link, if you are being helpful they sticks from high karma accounts.

Reddit hates self-promo, so build karma first and post real value. Slip links only when they genuinely add to the discussion.

I’ve had the same issue. Best approach is to engage genuinely in the community first comment, contribute, build trust. Share links only when it’s highly relevant and adds value.

genuine engagement is key. Redditors can spot self promotion from a mile away, so building trust before sharing links keeps you safe and effective.

Choose the right sub because posting in a sub that's not related could trigger the ban. Read the sub's rules cos some subs actually allow you to promote if you're being helpful while others don't tolerate at all. Use an aged account.

Finally, when posting optimize for being helpful. Don't appear too promotional.
I don't recommend linking to your site immediately.

build some karma and comment history before dropping any links, that usually keeps things safe.
