How do you password lock files?

I have winzip


And i want to have a txt document and then a exe that is password protected

How do i do this

everything i have tried makes the whole zip pasword protected!

Make 1 folder, inside that folder u make another folder where u have ur exe & doc. Pass protect 2nd folder containing ur exe & doc.

Zip the 1st folder, containing ur pass protected folder. But do NOT set a pass.

Okay but how do i password protect only the second folder?
 
I think he's saying to create a password protected zip containing the .exe file and then another unprotected zip containing the provious zip file + your txt file. This accomplishes what you want.

I'm not familiar with winzip so I don't the steps to protect just some files.
 
If you follow the instructions given it should be clear to you soon enough. :)

But in short here are the same instructions worded differently:
Make folder named Main >> Create folder in Main called Protect >> Put .exe file in Protect folder >> Password protect folder named Protect >> zip folder called Main.

Now you have an open archive with a password protected archive inside it. :)
 
use winrar make a folder keep both the text and exe file goto winrar settings use password protected option... or else just google or screenshots...

I do get that but its the protecting that single folder im not sure how to do

You can add password protection to .zip's and .rar's using 7-zip.

Try zipping up the exe with password protection and then zipping the txt along with the password protected exe together.

is it bhw or what? you're doing it wrong, you need to do the whole thing backwards: make a password protected rar with the exe only, then compress this rar and the txt file into another rar which won't be password protected, it's not that hard
