How do you market yourself without lying?

Seriously, age is not a big deal, when selling.

My Father owned a sporting goods store on the Jersey Shore and I worked there from the age of 10 until I was 16 and I remember one time someone was looking at a product line he sold.

My Father said, "Go sell them.", I was 12 at the time.

The guy who was looking asked me how old I was and I told him I was 12 and he said that I was just a kid and didn't think I knew the products.

I then rattled off the differences between 9 different products in that product line, why he should buy from us, and that we can have that packaged for him in 10 minutes, and he ended up buying one of the better ones.

Know your product or service better than anyone else, be able to explain it better than anyone else, and age won't be a factor.

Man that’s inspiring as hell. I wish I had that confidence though, but even my age aside this industry is just so oversaturated idk how to find my niche. I know I can’t expect others to spoon feed me their money making tactics lol but I guess im a bit desperate

For niche, find something you like to do and build a service around it.

I could bank on Youtube, but I hate editing videos; I could bank in programming, but I'm not into that either; I could bank with an SMM service, but that is a dirty reselling industry.

I no longer do this, but I banked doing SEO for clients, as I liked doing it and knew it.

I started doing it for my own sites, found out the various ways to rank sites, did pretty good there, and then offered services.

I also learned how to spam platforms, mostly social media ones, and I liked that and that was excellent money as well. It was also a lot of fun.

If you want to learn what the world wants to buy, read the threads in the Want to Buy and Hire a Freelancer subforums and if you want to know how to do it, read the Making Money subforums.

You will have to work, and I get the sense you don't mind that, but find something you like by reading those subforums.

Age isnt a huge deal if you show results. start by building a small portfolio even free or cheap work counts. use platforms like linkedIn, reddit or niche discord servers where bots are less common.

Damn I didn’t expect the post to get this much attention haha. Man that is the realest, most practical advice I’ve seen thus far, thank you. About spamming… I guess I could make a script to scam discord in python but I don’t want my account flagged :/. And twitter bots don’t get much engagement from what I’ve seen. I have tried cold dming twitter startups though

I can’t use LinkedIn or Reddit because im banned. I’m using dis board to find niche crypto discords that might have users that need websites for their memecoin or something but it isn’t working that well. I do have a very decent portfolio id say but I can’t show it here due to rules

Got you if the big platforms are blocked, just dive into smaller discords or telegram groups where your target audience hangs out.
Reach out personally showing your work directly usually gets better responses than posting publicly.
 
Back then when I've been 14 I used to find jobs on forums (Development) if you wanna get some jobs I would go today to Facebook groups and start being active there. there is a lot of people who looking for services there.
 
hello g, being 17 doesn’t mean you can’t get clients but it does mean you have to approach things differently.
You don’t need to pretend to be super experienced. What actually works better is showing small but real examples of what you can do. People care more about results than age.

If you can’t use 18+ platforms you still have options. The best way I found is building a small portfolio and sharing it in places where younger creators hang out. Niche Discord servers Reddit communities and Twitter can work way better than random freelancing servers. Instead of cold DMing try helping people publicly first. Answer questions give feedback or share your work. Once people see you’re actually good they will come to you.
Also start with smaller gigs. Offer to do a few short tasks for cheap or even free just to build proof. Once you have 3 to 5 solid examples you can market yourself way more confidently.

You can use 18+ platforms like Fiverr. Just an account on name of parents. Small lies like this which are not harmful for anyone are fine.

Sometimes its better to lie and get some visitors 1st. I am posting some trading bot performance daily for last 10days, total views r like, below 20. If I make fancy titles like, earn fast or make money without losing, people will come, but I am doing without giving them false promises. So getting very low response rates.
 
Write about yourself in superlatives and show exceptional, high quality work. That's it.

17 aged guy can also be experienced. There are examples of guys in their twenties becoming billionaire. It happened because they started in their teens.

I know that feeling, trust me I know. I remember when I sold some of my tools here, i had so many competitors, people buying my stuff and selling in here in front of my face, cheaper! I could not do anything, but somehow clientes always finded me, because of quality, honesty , consistency and good job done. I offered more than a tool, I offered great support, being there first for my customers and then for me, I woke up 2 , 3 in the morning just to reply a message and I found my way, there is always a way, just find it.
Competitors, saturated niches will be now and then, just offer more than a service and you will remember this post of me.
