How Do You Manage Multiple Websites?

As i'm looking to expand my assets portfolio I wonder how can you guys manage multiple sites without the risk of diluting your resources too much.

I don't have a team, so I gotta do all myself.

Any tips coming from experience would be appreciated.

I do it based on my feeling. No tool at all.
Like on Monday + Tuesday I work on site A, then I spend a day for site B, and a day for site C, then repeat.
Maybe that's why I am poor :(

How many websites you are planning to manage on your own?
 
For a handful few websites I prefer to work on task basis and prioritize the list of tasks for all of them (by importance with a time wise approach) and then work accordingly. This would work if you've time and with a few number of websites/tasks.

Better to build the main building blocks to your website at first (design, main pages, basic seo, setup tracking, reporting and analytics tools) before moving to the next, then it becomes easy to maintain those sites (adding content, improvements, backlinks, etc..).

Also you have to automate what could be automated, many routine, repeated tasks, tasks that follow a pattern could be easily automated saving you too much valuable time.

Make use of scheduling, productivity and time tracking tools to organize things and also to measure your productivity and if this way suits you or not.

For me, I'm working on 3 websites (all manual and whitehat) ATM for around 10 hours a day. I'm completely behind my target for 1 of them but the first couple are going smoothly.
 
The most important part of leveling up as a business person is to learn how to hire/ mange PEOPLE - trust me on this

So, I once tried to handle multiple sites at once, and that was a mistake. Even 3 sites (if they all are "money" sites) for one person is too much work unless you sleep 3-4 hrs a day and can allocate all the remaining time to these sites with exceptional focus. So if I were you, I'd stick to one or two sites at a time.
 
I use managewp to manage things like plugin updates etc. very useful tool.
 
Make a tasks calendar and work accordingly. You don't have to necessarily make multiple websites in order to be successful, unless you're making micro niche websites that are not content intensive.
Once you find success with one, outsource most of the work for that one and move on to another project. When you find success with your second one, flip the first one and then move on to the third one. Websites are like stocks for me, you need to know when to get out.

thanks, i don't feel appropriate using the image of Guts, i'm too weak for that

i use ai generators for the content but yeah, still it takes lots of time, also considering i have to do freelancing projects to survive.

ideally i'd like to block 7-10 days a month for my websites, while the rest of the time goes for freelancing

i surrender to the fact i can do just what i can do, stress myself in doing more doesn't make sense.
 
You can use a spreadsheet with certain columns to help you like I have the last posted date, and when I plan to write content, all I do is organize by that column, and the oldest date, needs the next content first.

It makes things a lot more organized

I have several assets. Whenever something succeeded, it was because I put serious attention to it.

In this case, I would suggest focusing on one asset - be it site, domain, tool, or app. Figure out everything about it. Keep the rest, but focus on only that one asset.
Once you have a blueprint, then think about the next one.

In terms of managing, tools and processes help. If you write more about your situation, I can share more.
 
I have (roughly) 15 active sites at the moment, a couple of YouTube channels and a few other projects on the side.

There's no way to do this without diluting your resources. You're either splitting time or money between them. Likely both.

In general, I like to take an MVP approach to a new project. If it's a content site that means somewhere from 50-100 posts of content and maybe some rough monetization added. I'll then leave it to sit for a couple of months and come back to scale the ones that perform well. I'll start (or buy) a couple of new sites and put more resources into the winners.

When this works, it works well. I've built profitable sites for peanuts but you can't let yourself get spread too thin or emotionally invested in any single site.

Hell, no man. Stop where you are right now. Reconsider your decisions. Pick two of your projects that seem to be the most promising and work on 'em. Don't end up with 6 worthless sites after a year of hard work.
 
thanks guys

the problem comes from my impatience.

i want to do more and get "there" asap.

i'm just digging a hole for my mental health though, cause i obsess myself till my brain hurts.

i have one asset which is doing well, building a proper system and focusing my resources on it over the next months it's probably the best thing to do.

scatter my very little time left in multiple sites would make everything more painful.

i better get one site making money first and then expand having that bit of additional resources to manage
