How do you manage backups of multiple sites?

So, i manage several client sites and a few own projects and i´m struggling to find a automated solution for creating backups without trashing our webspace. How do you guys do that?

If you are on Wordpress, then Updraft plugin is pretty neat. You can get a premium version with a prepaid storage space in cloud, based on your needs.
