How do you make thumbnails for YT videos?

Do you make yourself or have hired someone? Also, are you using AI to make thumbnails?
I usually create content myself to keep control and authenticity, but sometimes hire experts for specific tasks. AI tools help speed up thumbnail ideas, but I always tweak them manually to ensure they connect with the audience and fit my style. Pure AI thumbnails rarely hit the mark alone.

That’s a solid approach. Authenticity really shows in thumbnails. AI can speed things up, but the best results come from mixing tech with creativity. Hiring helps scale if you want to focus more on content than design.
Yes, that is why if you see growth in views, you should reinvest the earnings for further growth.

I usually handle it myself, but AI tools do help a lot, especially for repetitive tasks like thumbnails. Tools like Canva or DALL·E can generate ideas quickly, but I always add my own spin to keep it personal. It’s about finding the balance between efficiency and creativity!

If I need multiple components and text I use Illustrator. And for single scene or frame I use AI like leonardo ai or whisk

You can optimize AI to create images but you should still edit them yourself, like adding text. I mean, add a "human" element to your thumbnails or videos.

Use a bold image, clear text, and high contrast colors that instantly show the video’s topic.

I use gimp for thumbnail creations, you learn many new photoediting skills along the way if you dont just make AI do everything for you.

I mostly make them myself using design software. For quick concepts or when I need to get something done fast, I've started using some of the newer design tools with AI features. They can give a good head start and save a lot of time.
Which design tools specifically?

I usually make them myself with Canva or Photoshop, but AI tools like MidJourney can speed it up if you want.

When I have extra time I use corel draw and illustrator for designing youtube thumbnails. The reason behind using these software is just to enhance my skills and to do work on my ideas so that I can design them according to my requirement using my skills, otherwise canva is best, if you have shortage of time you can use canva. You can use the ready made templates and edit them according to your requirements. It is easy simple and time saving method.

I am not a professional in Youtube, But I post randomly. For Thumbnail I use Midjourney and ChatGPT AI for this work. Its pretty good. Nut Not very professional. You need someone creative desiner to do this job professionally.
