Agreed, the best way would always be to just leave your confort zone and just go work somewhere else. Go to different coffes and spend afternoons there, eventually you will become a local somewhere and people will start to get to know you.
Also if you're not hitting the gym and you want to that would be a good way to make new friends aswell.

Offline, you smile, say hello, and if the stranger smiles back and says hello to you, Say something pleasant, like isn't this day very lovely? .... Don't shock her by asking her age, or asking a guy how much is his income...

Online, don't be a friend too soon. Be careful. Adding a friend via the friend button isn't the same as becoming a friend. You both may not know each other for years though the forum might show you both are friends.

Well, I dont think they will stop talking to me complety, they are just focusing more on building a future, which I completly understand. I'm thinking about getting a volunary job at the local zoo :D Just to have fun and meet new people.
 
Just try to meet new people that will bring people with them so you can start to know even more people , if you aren't a shy person you should be fine.
 
it is a weird question.
i have 5 close friends and that is enough.
i know some of them for over 16 years since school and college time.
i am not looking for new ones, more over i avoid this thing.
 
I use Rohypnol and my basement / dungeon.

meetup.com is a good place to meet friends. join some programming, technology and marketing groups.
 
Go out to new places and have casual conversations with others you see at restaurants, etc. This is how I met a really good friend of mine, we were at the same concert and just started talking and now we are friends.
 
Friends or acquaintances? Huge difference.
 
I believe new friends are sliver while old ones are gold. I have only a few friends and they are like my brothers. Marriage has not affected our friendship. You get to know a true friend when the going gets tough, the fake ones run away and stop taking your calls, the real ones will be there. i meet new people though from customers i attend to daily offline.
 
Just taking break from laptop and going out will be good enough.
Or meet friends of your friend

I think, you can find people with the same hobbies. It is a good reason for communication.
 
I get in my white van and go to local parks and give free candy to kids.
