How do you make new friends

Hi everyone.

I have a serious question for the internet marketers and entrepreneurs in here.
How do you make new friends in the day to day life?

I’m doing business online for 6 years now, and I found myself staying with the excat same friends which whom I had before.
I’m with my computer 8 hours a day, and the only time that I see people is in the evening. But thes are the same people from 6 years ago, and now I’m a new person and want to make new friends.

I’m sure this is a very common problem. So how do you overcome this?

your predicament is relatable with many Imers. we are introverts and spend most of our time on the internet. If you wish to make new friends, join a local social club, volunteer groups and meet new people. travel also to new places.
 
Best way that I have found to meet people....

Take your laptop to a bar, sooner or later someone will ask you about your work..

conversation begins...

about 8/10 when I do this someone gets curious to what I am doing with my laptop at a bar...
 
Continue to make lots of money and watch lots of friends pour in
 
Hell, half of the people I call my friends are my local bar rats....

lol, guess I drink alot...

Seriously though if you like to drink hit the bars more often..

I felt this way too, but my few "long-term" friends are starting to build a family with their SO, so they have much less time to hang out.

Damn right, that's the exact thing I believe in and wanted to express when people use to ask me why you only have a couple of friends.

I do know many people from school and college, talked and spent time with them. But I always say they are the peoples I know and not friends (Except for couple of bros).


@gnr993993 good friends aren't just made in few days, no one is stopping you from meeting new peoples, its good to have contacts. Also, like Zwielicht said, try to build more in current friends also revive old friendships which are faded for good reasons.

Yeah, that happened to my aunt many years ago. She didn't have any kids, so her old friends who became parents stopped talking to her. Oddly enough, even once she had a child, her old friends still didn't talk to her (they probably found new friends).
 
Do we seriously need more friends? Just think about the good old friends whom we're ignoring for various reasons.
Networking is good, but no need to make everyone a friend :) When it comes to IM it's mostly give & take.

Read your method and thought about how to give it my own spin.

So yesterday I took my new Macbook Retina to the club and try to do some onpage optimization in the VIP room. The end result was not that great.

One guy “accidentally” spilled his drink over the keyboard. Sparks everywhere, resulting in some drugged-out-of-her-mind chick screaming like a mad cow and a major panic ensued.

After 1 minute I was surrounded by bouncers asking me what the fuck I was doing, so I guess at least I was able to begin a conversation.

Eventually I got thrown out of the club, together with my Macbook, which landed on the street and broke in half. Also got notified that I’m not welcome anymore... :(

My guess is that I need to give your method yet another spin.

Plan isn't as effective in a club environment. upscale dive bars and irish pubs yield the best results....
 
What's your purpose of making more new friends? Join local events is the best to make new friends.
 
Build up your current friendships (or at least acquaintances) and meet new people through them. They will often bring someone to hang out etc. Having good (preferably hot) female friends are also a great way to meet new girls.
