This is how you make money with coupon site:
You signup for affiliate program and networks.
Get coupons, discounts.
Rank for keywords that people use for searching coupons, discounts, deals free trial.
Or run google ads, youtube ads, facebook etc if you can't rank
Use a content locker.
Redirect the users to the sellers site while dropping affiliate cookie on they devices.
Get commission when users make the purchase.

Seriously!
Competitors want that eyeball.
Let's say you have a travel bag coupon and there are certain key brands in the industry.
An up-and-coming travel bag player would want those eyeballs.
He would want the opportunity to make his case as to why people should buy his brand instead of the existing top players.
That is your real market, and this can only be done through custom outreach.
Unless of course, those competitors already have an affiliate program.
Most of them don't.
You can do this yourself or you can hire somebody to do this.
It's pretty straightforward.
Look for competitors.
Look for the top brands.
Find all the competitors using Amazon or eBay and then go from there.
Look for their contact information.
This is how you would make real money instead of just relying on display ad networks.

Yes, you may earn money using coupon websites and affiliate networks. Among the well-known ones are CJ Affiliates and Rakuten. It takes planning and effort to earn money this way, but with the appropriate attitude, it is achievable.

Just try to rank on the exact keywords as the original website and insert affiliate links.
There are many scripts available to achieve this. You can also include 'fake' coupons with discounts offered already on the original vendor's website.

Lots of people here already talking about Affiliate marketing which is obviously a good strategy.
But you could also setup your own coupon site.
I like the story of the Appsumo founder.
He went to imgur back in the day and asked them if he could get them more customers by offering a discount, and they share the profits.
Imgur agreed.
He then went to Reddit who's users were big into Imgur at the time, and offered Reddit a discount for their users. Reddit themselves promoted it for him.
So it's like Vendor Arbitrage. Setup a deal between a company offering a service/product and a company that has users that can avail of that service product.
You're the middle man, collecting a % on everything.
This done on a smaller scale could be something like:
Find a Software that helps X niche companies do X, go to a company that frequently serves these businesses already but are not in competition with your Software company.
Example, Accounting Software for Lawyers, then go a lead gen company that targets lawyers.
Offer the Lead Gen company a profit share for sharing your offer with their customers.
The lead gen company benefits by offering something of value to their clients, the Accounting software company benefits by getting new customers, and you benefit by collecting commissions in the middle.
I haven't tried this yet, but it makes sense and likely something I will be doing in the future.

Ok with a servive or physical product review site I think the google adsense payout is higher, but be aware you need tons of traffic to make good money form such an review google adsense site.....like making $2k /every month.
