How do you lock a video so it cannot be downloaded?

watermark it, there is no video on internet that cannot be downloaded, trust me!

How do you prevent something that you are technically downloading. Just the fact that you are sharing your videos to them means they are downloading that video from you.
You can't allow them to not download it somewhere else if you are sharing it with them. If they are smart they will just capture the video, lol. It technically goes into your temp folder when you are in the browser , so you can easily just sniff the http packets from within a browser and see the url of the video that is streaming. There is just no way around it, , sorry bro!

you can put your watermark to protect your video. and think a little bit, to be downloadable your videos can be a good thing. as many your video is download as many people find about you. free publicity

If someone who has access to the videos and knows how to download or rip the videos, it will be very difficult to stop them. Like others have mentioned in the above posts you could add watermark or other techniques so viewers know about your brand to gain some exposure and convert some of them into future customers.

He's just asking the method to not allow normal users from downloading his videos.
If people have download managers like IDM etc. they can easily download streaming vids
but normal internet users won't have such tools.
I think you can just use any video embedder or plugins like
flow player, covert video player etc. and also use watermarks as people suggested.

The video cannot be protected from being downloaded by any mean. What you can do is, just a watermark or add a rotating banner which rotates when the video plays. In this way, no one will atlease download the video.
You cant make people not download it but you can always complicate them how the video is streamed
Just search for a php script that "reads" files and "prints" them to the user bite by bite. Of course easier said than done but Google can help on this one.

Watermark it, plus embedded it with secure options, turn off right click buttons, should be enough to protect it.
