Its a good question, i have some suggestions here better u can go to bhw tools http://bhwtools.com/ here r else https://www.ultratools.com/tools/spamDBLookup this is most use for u to check it. in bhwtools u can find it on the post area to check the domain.
rest all u can find it on the main page.

Check the entire backlinks of that site, if they are from good source then you can move forward and buy that domain. Also you can simply search in Google
