How do you kill hangover?

Real advice from a solid driinker:

1. Drink gatorade or anything with salts and electrolytes (much faster absorption)
2. Anything sweet. Gets your sugar up, gives more energy, gets your kidneys and body parts working faster.
3. walk abit or exercise -- if you can. The faster you excrete the alcohol the better you will be.

hardcore advice from a former 'semi'-alcoholic. ;)

lol i just woke up with a hangover and this is the first thread i saw. i think will go get some ginger ale (ginger settles the stomach very well).

2-3 cups of water/juice in a frequent interval(preferable orange juice as it contains vitamin c) until recovery as you will need to clear booze from your blood thru urine and liver.
Vitamin C helps to boost your already tired liver, stomach and intesting to restore their normal function.
Fatty food to absorbe free floating alcohol molecules
Paracetamol to eliminate headache

i dont get hangovers, but sleep and water always helps, i dont believe in no magic insta cure.

i've not been hungover for 3 years, and i'm 19 so i drink quite alot ...

take 2 painkillers then drink 2 pints of water before you pass out or go to sleep. Works everytime.

Hangovers are caused by dehydration, thats what causes your headache and makes you feel s**t! so the water puts fluid back in your system and the painkillers are there just to help incase the water isn't good enough!

I always do it, and i'm always fine the next morning!

if you're taking painkillers the night you drank, like when you come home from the bar or watever.. you're asking for trouble. you will PROBABLY give yourself an ulcer or something. but yeah drink water. i find if i eat before i go to bed after i've been drinking i usually wake up feeling super. eatin some food to absorb the alcohol a little better and just drink a shit ton of water...

also i'm drunk right now.

Who gets hangovers? Amateurs get hangovers. If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch. Or under it if you prefer.

Howdy all alcoholics.

How the hell do you guys get rid of hangover? I had a blast yesterday..drinking games with 12 different types of booze mixed. Now the hangover of my life, I'm not sure if I've ever had worse. So what's your way to kill hangover?

I usually just die in bed, eat pizza and watch Something brainless.. I can't work when having hangover..

A day wasted is not a day wasted!

Cure....hair of the dog that bit you!:D

Injection of Vitamin C does wonders and puts you back on your feet in 15 minutes.

Fill up a two liter with water and drink it within a few hours. Take some medicine for the headache, drink some tea, take a hot steamy shower.

I'm just like you Jammie. I've never been hungover a day in my life, and I outdrink everyone :D

I usually roll over and open the top draw, pull out my bag of weed and roll a fat spliff. Smoke that till you pass out again.

Rinse and Repeat :)

Drinks with electrolytes are your best bet for getting rid of a hangover. Did your mom ever give you Pedialyte when you had a stomach flu to help keep you hydrated? Well, Gatorade is the perfect anti hangover drink and it works like Pedialyte to help replenish the sodium, potassium, and chloride (electrolytes) levels in your body. Water just isn't enough. But make sure the Gatorade is at room temperature, not cold. Cold liquids make it harder for your body to absorb things.

Tums and Alkaseltzer are good for hangover relief. The remaining electrolytes you're missing because of dehydration are bicarbonates. Bicarbonates are found in things like baking soda, Tums, and Alkaseltzer. Not only do these products replenish bicarbonate electrolytes, they're also good for your stomach since alcohol tends to make your body produce more stomach acid than it needs. Hence, the nausea felt during a hangover.
Coffee with sugar is the next step for your hangover remedy. If you were dancing or making the beast with two backs last night, you've lost more than just sweat; you've lost sugars as well. Sugar is what our body's burn for energy. You need sugars to help get rid of a hangover. But why add coffee? Because coffee is a vasoconstrictor and it helps to make the veins in your brain a little smaller, relieving the pressure and tension around your head. That's why tension headache medicine has caffeine in it.
Although they don't help get rid of a hangover, painkillers are probably on the menu. Anything painkiller will work for a hangover, really. But if you've taken my advice and had a cup of coffee with sugar, don't take anything that claims to relieve migraines and tension headaches. Those pain medicines have caffeine in them, and the last thing you need is to add jitters to your long list of hangover symptoms.
Wrapping yourself in a nice warm blanket is the last step to getting rid of a hangover. If you've had enough alcohol, there might still be some left in your system since your body's metabolism slows down while you sleep. Alcohol lowers the body's core temperature, leaving you susceptible to illness and other bad things. Get yourself a warm blanket, a bottle of warm Gatorade, a cup of coffee with sugar, a bottle of extra-strength Tylenol, and a season of your favorite show on DVD. It's time to let your body relax.

Hangover Pills aren't Hangover Cures

Like I said, there's no such thing as a hangover cure. Drugs like Chaser claim that "ingredients in a Chaser hangover pill are activated calcium carbonate and charcoal that attract congeners and soak them up like a sponge before they can do their damage." Well, you can see why this hangover pill/cure might work because calcium carbonate is close enough to calcium bicarbonate; it need only react with water to become bicarbonate, the one electrolyte missing from Gatorade. Calcium carbonate is also used in most antacids. But the activated charcoal is the catcher here. Supposedly activated charcoal absorbs congeners, the "impurities" in alcoholic beverages that add taste and yumminess to the drinks. The problem with hangover pills like this is, most experts agree that it isn't the congeners—though some might play a part—that cause a hangover, but the amount of ethanal or Acetaldehyde present in the drink and produced by the body causing severe hangover symptoms. So, there's very little evidence to suggest that hangover pills like Chaser can cure a hangover. But you know what? If you try these hangover pills over an extended period of time and they help cure hangovers, let me know.

Me personally I left drinking years ago...

I usually just die in bed, eat pizza and watch Something brainless.. I can't work when having hangover..

If I have a real hangover, I can't even move the next day!
I would never think of drinking or eating anything!

A real man counts how often he has puked all over the bathroom...

Just gotta look at it logically, you've just poisoned yourself, your dehydrated and lacking essential nutrients. Soooo.... water, painkillers and some simple healthy food.

Gatorade is very expensive for what it is, your better off with water with a bit of GOOD QUALITY sea salt in it, that'll help get you the electrolytes. Tastes like shit though :D

I have read the research and conducted many years of extensive research and testing and there is NO miracle cure as previously posted.

One of the most important factors that I don't think was mentioned is how much you have eaten prior or during the nights drinking. If you are drinking (I mean really drinking, not just a few beers) on an empty stomach, chances are you are not going to be feeling well the next day I don't care how much water you drink before you pass out.

So make sure you eat before getting loaded and that will at least help minimize the pain.

What works best for me like someone already mentioned is to have a glass of water after every couple drinks. Usually once I start drinking I forget all about the water, get dehydrated and feel like crap. But when I remember have some water in between cocktails, I never feel that bad the next day. Seems to be the only that works for me.

Also, its really hard and sometimes painfull to do because I usually just want to lay around and watch tv but if I get up and exercise, go for a bike ride or hit the gym & lift weights, that usually will get rid of it and I am back to normal pretty fast.

It's one of my buddies birthday tonight so I guess its time for more research :)
