Just at the title says how do you do internal linking within your sites? I have a plugin called yet another related post and it seems to do a good job but I dont know how effective it is.

What do you guys do and/or recommend?

Well after reading more about this subject I still cant determnie if its best to use a WP plugin that automatically links to other pages or to manually add some links after each post. Thoughts?

I don't use any related post plugin.

How I link between pages are just by trackbacks inside the written post. It manually done or you can use a free plugin but I already forgotten the name.

Never heard of doing it that way, and actually dont really know what trackbacks are. Ill have to look into it

In my context it's mean an automatic link created by the plugin for a keywords you have set to auto link into the post you have set.

An alternative plugin is SEO Smart Links - using trackbacks sounds interesting but they are nofollow so not sure how effective they would be?

SEO smart links isn't being actively supporter by the developer anymore I think. This explains why sometimes the plugin doesn't work on some of my themes.

I'm not sure if that's the plugin I'm thinking of, but there's a plugin where you can enter a keyword, and a URL, and every time you type the keyword in a post, it will link it. I think this is one of the best plugins around, and if that's the one you guys are talking about, a nd it's no longer supported, someone needs to create a new one. The plugin is brilliant.

But I've always wondered how some of the top blogs link to other posts. I mean, I don't blog much, but if I was a regular blogger, I dont' really have the time to search my old posts, to get the URLs to link to them. Seems like a tedious process.

I use paginate. it links pages together in chain kind of, and then also related post plugin.

I don't do any of my internal linking by any WP plugin. What I do is do it manually. Works for me and then you don't have to go chasing up the loose ends.

I use three different plug ins. First takes keywords and links it to different pages, the second does a related news feed and the third is through Breadcrumbs.

All seem to be working VERY well as my sites get indexed VERY quickly.
