ey guys i have a car rental website in a local market and only around 1% of visitors convert , how to improve Conversion rate ?

You can up your conversion ratio by A/B testing your copy and call to action on your home/landing pages.

Think of it as running two different pages to see which converts better. Even a couple hundred people running through the test will get you started. Once you have a winner then you A/B test that one with a new and different page and so forth.

I suggest that you manually analyze the Car rental market by going outside and see what's going on. You should talk to the people working in car rental services,

Collect and analyse visitor data. Perform competitor analysis and define your site's goals clear to the right audience, by offering incentives. Keep to build more traffic for your site as well.

Many said here that you should test out different layouts, copy, and buttons and it's true. But something you need to understand is that conversion rate is not a static number. What's your conversion rate from organic search? Social, paid search, display? If you run Google Ads or Bing, what's the conversion rate for each of the campaigns, ad groups, keywords?

What's your most visited page? Which keywords or search queried lead people to it? Does it direct people to rent a car?

Hope it helps.

First of all your product or services must be of best quality. Then you must look to prove your customer that your product or service shall solve his problem.

Make it easy for visitors to navigate your website.
Use clear and engaging visual elements, such as high-quality images and videos, to create an appealing and user-friendly website design.
Use persuasive copywriting techniques to communicate the value of your products or services and convince visitors to take action.
Use social proof, such as customer testimonials and reviews, to build trust and credibility with your visitors.
Make sure your website is mobile-friendly and easy to use on smartphones and tablets.
Use A/B testing to test different variations of your website.
Analyze your website's analytics data to identify areas for improvement and optimize your website for better conversions.

If that's organic search traffic, then probably you are ranking for keywords with wrong intent.
You will need to target keywords that are Navigational and Commercial intent.

How's your brand keyword ranking in search?
Most times webmasters forget or ignore working on branding which is VERY important when it's about a local business.

Then the UI and UX of your website are also equally important here.

Since you mentioned it's a local business have you worked on Local SEO of your website?
If not, you need to work on it.
Optimized GMB profile is also equally important here.
Local business schema, structured data is a part of web optimization that's important as a brand.

You need to have social media profiles and pages for your brand.
And you also need to have reviews on various platforms including your GMB profile and brand social media pages.
These review pages are like parasite properties in BHSEO they can rank with less effort and drive traffic.

Make full use of search console and GA to study your traffic, keywords, backlink.
Don't just rely on organic search traffic explore other sources like social media too.

Improve your SEO......Ensure your website is optimized for search engines. Use relevant keywords and phrases throughout your website's content and metadata.

Focus on the customer, ask open-ended questions, show empathy and listen actively.
Use simple language to communicate effectively and be responsive to their queries.
Use persuasive language and social proof to motivate the customer to take action.
Offer incentives like discounts or free trials to encourage engagement.
Build a positive relationship with the customer.

I can tell you right now, CRO improvements are not driven by "add more traffic". That whole line of thought doesn't even make any sense so ignore anyone saying that (unless your somehow driving completely irrelevant traffic from some un-serviceable area, in which case CRO shouldn't even be on your radar, but you have a 1% cr so I doubt that's happening)

You need to optimise your site bottom up.

So many people and agencies waste everyone's fucking time by optimising homepages and obsessing over minutia detail like button colours and other variables that only ever increase rates by fractions of a %. It's such an outdated way of performing CRO, it doesn't even make sense.

You should be starting at your checkout page, then your cart page, then your product page etc etc

I've audited companies after spending 7 figs on CRO who optimised the living shit out the homepage with hundreds of variations whilst showing absolute disregard for the checkout page. The page that's actually the most important, the page where minor changes can increase rates 2 fold overnight. The real money page.

Optimising top down is extremely inefficient. Optimise bottom up.

Also: if you're not upselling/cross selling effectively on both your product/cart/checkout pages with slick 1 clicks, your doing yourself a disservice. Look into it.

As it is a product site, reviews and feedback from other customers helps you in conversion.
First, make sure you are best at quality and understanding the user's needs.
Also, be competitive in price to engage more audience/ users

Be more relevant in your ads and social media pages. Watch what the trend is. Where your travellers visit the most and from where. Use that to your advantage while placing ads.
