How do you handle interlinking?

Do you guys use a plugin for that? I heard one that tells you what piece of content you have can be linked to another one. I'm spending like 2 hours editing a draft article for publishing. My product requires good visualization, so I create 2-3 designs, and when I'm finally done with those, I need to use my brain more to find what part of this article can be linked to some of my previous articles.

So, is it okay to use a plugin? Or you think forcing myself to do this manually will pay off in the future?

LinkWhisper comes handy for most of our projects..
 
manual interlinking is the way to go because you know exactly which words you want to hyperlink for maximum usefulness and SEO relevancy
 
Proper internal linking can yield up to 20% more juice
If you're not into Linkwhisper, do it manually.
Or try it this way:
Pick 2-3 terms from your post title
Press F3 and enter one of these terms to highlight all similar text within the draft

I use link whisper. It works but I don't see anything special that it does.
 
I Don't think it will pay to do it manually, yet automation always needs some human supervision and you can always manually tweak the results to your liking.

Exactly! If you follow a plugin's recommendation it'd end up like random links that have no usefulness in the current article, at least in the eyes of the reader. That’s why it's always best to start linking from when the article was created and published.

Inter linking from article creation makes it easier.
 
If you're using WordPress Gutenberg, it's pretty easy.

Only, if you know all of the post you've created.

You can highlight the word and add a few text or copy that word and WordPress will find you some related post from your site:

I personally use LinkWhisper because it's easier, and I don't have to memorize what articles I have and etc.

However, using it for 2 years, I decided to create my own ( LINKILO) and going to launch very soon
