Hey guys,

I guess I could Google this question and find tons of answers, but I think the answers I'll get from fellow IMers will be unique, which is why I'm asking here.

How do you guys stay productive during the day? What sort of tasks do you do (build Web 2.0's, manual comments, etc..)?

I feel like I have all the time in the world, but sometimes I don't use my time efficiently..

I'm sure I'm not the only one, so this should be a nice way to get some discussion going.

When I had a regular 9-5 job I always envisioned that if I worked from home there would be so much time available that I would never run out of things to do. That really could not be further from the truth. I have found that there is so much stuff to do that it can get overwhelming. Sometimes I find myself throwing my hands up and just playing PS3.

However, on my productive days, I go down stairs in the morning, get coffee, and then head to my office. If I turn the TV on for just a minute to watch ESPN then it does not bode well for my day. I end up staying downstairs and watching TV while I drink my coffee for hours.

I make lists too. On Sunday I try to make a list for the whole week. I try to included all aspects of life on the list. In my case day job list, IM list, Family duties list, and personal growth. For each day I try to make the list first thing and on a sticky note. I found the sticky note keeps me from going overboard in the morning.

I'm new to all this and still at the excited about it stage, got 2 contacts that i'm helping out with stuff and making websites, blogging , social networking. Still new and still exciting. God knows what I'll be like in a month though.

Wed design, seo, monitoring servers, checking clients, and helpdesk so a tad busy during the day.

Drink the following:

Recipe:
-1000ml Hot Water
-1.5 tbl Spoon Kenco Coffee
-3 Sugars
-A little milk

Side effects:
-Diarrhoea

I set my self small, achievable goals that can be completed in a day, a couple of days or a week at most.

That way, I consonantly see progress and that in turn keeps me motivated and productive.

Simple....THINK ABOUT THE MONEY!

Think about what new gagdet your going to buy when you get that payout

If you can, work somewhere else besides your home, or make a room in your place just for working. A lot of people go to the gym to workout when they could workout at home anytime they want...

Once you get many gadgets, over and over again, you will realize they become boring pretty fast...

Better _reinvest_ your money so you earn more or at least learn more.

Spurts of balls out productivity, then spurts of relaxation/recouping myself works really good.

Just bumping this thread cause I think it'd be a good discussion to continue. Some great answers in the previous posts, but I wanna see what others do as well. So, let's hear it guys (and gals)!

Love your niche!

The key, I think, is to choose a niche that you have a lot of interest in.

By this I mean: if you like boats, create a website on the subject of boats.

Because you have to work so much on your site that...it helps if you have a natural interest in your niche, in order to stay interested.

The other thing is...find a way to get away from it all and then come back to it, so that it somehow stays fresh for you.

If you think it's starting to become boring or just repetitive or something, take a break (of a day or more, if you can) and then come back to working after the break.

If you find the work interesting and if you like it, you will do MUCH BETTER work, and you will get much better results.

What I'm doing is to record all work done at the end of the day, so if the work done is not enough the next day I will do more things.

I'm working on micro niches and my tasks are basically:
-Create articles
-Create new sites
-Google webmaster the site, rank tracker, statcounter
-Scrape some auto approve comments, pligg sites
-Post on auto approve comments/pligg sites
-Buy High PR domains, post articles on it pointing to my micro niche sites

But now thinking because of this thread I guess that it would be a better idea to build a list of things to do the next day. Something like this:

Tomorrow:
-Scrape at least 20 auto approve Do-follow comment list
-Scrape at least 5 do-follow pligg sites
-Post comments and social bookmark 5 of my sites

Next day:
Write 1 article for MNS1
Write 1 article for MNS2
Write 1 article for MNS3

Next day:
-Keyword research
-Create new MNS

....
And set a goal at the end of the month, mine is to get 600€/month by February.
