You asked about motivation.
More generally, motivation is a byproduct of the collective sum of variables that all add up to well-being.
Lets use the analogy that apple pie = motivation and apples = money. If I put 3 apples in front of you how motivated would you be to eat them? Not that motivated. But if I sliced those apples up and mixed in brown sugar, corn starch, cinnamon, nutmeg, a few chunks of butter ... threw all this into a pie crust... baked at 450F for 40 mins..... then placed a warm apple pie in front of you..... how motivated would you be now?
I'd say pretty fucking motivated.
The POINT I'm making OP is you're intently focused on $$$. But money isn't what actually motivates people. You need physical health, mental health, work, play, vacations, golfing, fishing, relationships, family, women, sex... a well balanced life that fulfills all your most innate desires. The marketers on here working 14 hours a day might say they're fulfilled but I don't believe that for a minute.
The most motivated people are those who love their lives. When you love your life you love yourself you love most things you do and that's where true motivation comes from. It's more simple than most people think.
I find the more I focus on those things the more motivated and effective I am with IM. But when I allow myself to be consumed by greed, thinking greed is what should motivate me, I always find myself less motivated.
