There are many threads and methods on how to grow a insta in a niche and i know out of experience if you pick a good niche growing on Insta is easy, but now comes the question, how do you grow a personal IG? Let's say the content is well thought and high quality but i just dont know how to grow this thing fast.

At the moment i'm following / unfollowing but only gain like 35 followers a day (which is fairly low)

Anybody has some advice on this?

This thread begs the question: why?

Niche accounts grow because they have a theme which people can immediately decide if it's for them or not. You'll notice that large "personal" accounts are basically just niche accounts with a person's name on it.

The only exceptions that come to mind are people famous outside of Instagram opening a personal account on Instagram.

If you want similar growth on your personal IG, you'll probably need to adopt the same mindset as any other niche accounts. Which kinda stops making it your personal account.

Why? Because i produce house music and need to grow some audience as artist.

But thanks for the great reply you're right about that but there are people out there that are famous for no niche or whatsoever take for example iamnategarner he started his IG and blew up outta nowhere for no specific niche. just personal IG

Oh! That makes sense. When I hear "personal" IG account, I think pictures of pets and selfies with your buddies. That left me wondering why you'd want that.

An option would be building niche accounts that are in niches similar/complementary/related to house music. For example, you can build:
  • A fan page for a famous house music artist
  • A page for house music news
  • A page for new house music songs
They'll probably grow faster than yours, and you'll have a bunch of followers to promote yourself to as "the new guy who is making waves on the scene" or whatever lingo works these days. This will get you targeted followers.

To cast a wider net, take some classic niche like hot girls or motivational quotes. Then, every so often, post screenshots of your song on Spotify or SoundCloud and put the caption as "I'm in a @[yourusername] mood right now."

His account is private.

But my first instinct is that his account has been growing off his male model looks (male version of hot girls niche with a name on it) being around since IG's early days. Am I wrong?

For that, you should buy some followers. Nobody will follow a music page that only has a few followers. People do it all the time with Soundcloud. Don't buy a ton, just enough so it looks like you are at least a legit artist with some following.

That's a damn brilliant idea thanks !

Follow and like accounts/pictures from relevant hashtags. The following will come in slowly but surely (assuming you post quality material, of course :p)
