How do you go about hiring a "cheap" VA?

Hello everybody, looking to hire a virtual assistant for my mobile app business, the virtual assistant will do things like keyword research, writing descriptions in various different languages using ChatGPT, copying others' descriptions and using them on our app, and making different dimensions of screenshots for app store listing...etc

Would you guys look for VA on Upwork? fiver? or maybe onlinejobs(.)ph(philippines workers)?
Right now the budget is tight, and looking to hire a part-time VA, maybe $150-$200/month(around $2-2.5/hour) for part-time job

How VAs helped your business? were you able to train them quickly? which country makes best VAs in your experience?

I would not go with any random freelancer as they will 100% just do your stuff on the side as you are not paying that much (That is just how it is. You pay little and you wont get their full attention).

Go with an agency that makes VAs sit in office so there is accountability, replacement and someone looking over them. Should not be too hard to find one.

upwork minimum is 5$ / hour.

If it is good and cheap, it will not be fast. If it is good and fast, it will not be cheap. If it is fast and cheap, it will not be good.

Have you found anyone yet or are you still looking?

Phillipines Craigslist I used in 2013. The number of job seekers is amazing. I hired 2 people for $2 a hour then, one was good, but they quite because $2 is so little. The other one wasn't so good, but I should have filtered them out when hiring...
