How do you go about Buying Instagram Username?

How would you go about buying a username on Instagram if it would takes 2 weeks to claim the instagram name if the original owner is gonna give you the @? what if someone steals it before you can change it over to your username after the 2 weeks?

It’s almost impossible that someone will be able to steal it. Unless a third party knows the exact time it will be available. In my experience, I always get the handle after 2 weeks.

How do you go about it, do you ask them to tell you the exact time they changed their username so you can set the timer?
 
I would also like to know this. I messaged the account asking if they wanted to sell it to me but since they're inactive, I assume they never received it. It is a shame that some people get a good handle and never even bother with it!

I just monitor it when they change it. For example, he agreed to change it today, I will check the handle if he really did change it. Then I will set a time from then. I don’t think there’s a bot that can snipe that handle from you.
 
Username swap services exist for this exact reason. Alternatively, you can simply buy the account holding the username along with the OGE. This is probably the safest option.
 
I was lucky, the owner responded quickly and gave me the handle for free within a day. I guess it's luck of the draw, good luck
