How do you get skype username?

Registered with my mobile number. It never asked for username nor was I given one by default.

I am using skype chat after many years so I think something has changed. Although i am able to login to skype chat with my mobile number and password, i could not find my username anywhere. How can i ask someone to add me to skype without providing my username. i dont understand why would skype make such a small thing so difficult.

Can anyone help?

I had registered with my mobile no and not email id.
