Do you promote your channel somewhere, or just post videos and wait? I'm struggling to get views. Couldn't really understand youtube algorithm.

Try to work on YouTube SEO to top the search results so that you maximize your chance of getting more views.

first research on your niche, does it have enough audience, if yes, check other successful channels in the similar niche and observe their kind of editing, their thumbnail styles, seo style and replicate that, also feel free to do your own experiments because your thumbnail style could start a trend or be more clickbait than the already same patterns observed in other channels.
If you observe carefully you will also see how most channels use smm and boost their channels alongside good seo, edits etc , so find a good panel that offers you a good method and great services to boost your channel. You can mix smm with youtube ads as well.
 
Focus in creating high quality content
Depending on your niche, SEO may be relevant and optimizing it will be essential, or maybe irrelevant, depending on the kind of content you are creating
External views can be helpful, but I wouldn't like to rely on it
 
Just posting videos and waiting isn’t enough—promotion is key!
try to optimize for YouTube Search (SEO)
try to promote Outside of YouTube (website, blog, social media)
 
Without promotion, the key will be to create quality content in trending niches to get views.
 
in start i run ads after 1 week i stopped

Just posting videos and waiting is not enough these days. I think you should also promote your channel on social media, forums, or anywhere people might be interested. I think it’s important to make good titles, thumbnails, and use the right keywords so the YouTube algorithm can find your video easier. I think consistency matters too – the more you post and engage, the better your chances of getting views.
 
Use social media, shorts, you can paid adds just waiting for views and followers don't alwas work.
 
Depends on niche really but why not post everywhere if your goal is to grow YT make pages on other social media linking to it and start unloading content there as well with call of action to your YT video
 
Just continue what you are doing at the moment, but also, promote your channel by sharing it to other social media. Make the title catchy, but still easier to search.
 
You need to do SEO with title and description. You also need to share it to all social platforms that you can.
Post new videos regularly.
