How do you get backlinks?

Hi guys,
I think that’s difficult to answer to this question, I’ve read many many post there, I’ve done lot of on-page SEO works on my website (where we sell services) using SEMrush hints, spending lot of time by increasing website speed and content optimization, I’ve also added a /blog in my website and started to making some quality articles for my niche (about 3/weeks) I’ve already seen some changes in SEMrush we moved to 0 of visibility to 0.38% one of our top competitor has 8%, except for some optimization it seems that we only need some relevant backlink, how do you get them? And if we need to pay for that how much we should pay?
we started also to do Facebook ads to move audience to our site blog and google ads (1/3 of Facebook budget) to move people on service page.

consider that we would prefer to invest more time than money being a newborn reality

Add some blogs in the website and do content marketing.
Content marketing helps to built better backlinks.

Give the users the knowledge of your blog in the form of video, document, article, ppt, pdf, feeds, content curation system, question and answers websites and social sites.

Whats content marketing?

A question on how to get backlinks in the white hat SEO section instead of the link building section receiving black hat SEO answers.

I highly advise you to stay away from buying links. Especially, if they come from PBNs.

I don´t know my way around SEMRush to help you with this but if you can get your hands on Ahrefs there are ton of potential you can gain there.

Ahrefs´s blog and YouTube channel have amazing content in this regard.

I highly recommend you to go through both of them.

They only show 100% white hat linkbuilding techniques.

If you want to do your own research on the topic i also advise you to heavily focus your efforts on the following link building techniques...

• Internal linking - This is something heavily overlooked by many)
• Guest posting
• Broken link - This can turn out to be a very powerful link building tactic if you do it correctly.
• Link reclamation
• Skyscraper technique - A concept coined by Brian Dean
• Moving man method - Also from Brian Dean
• Unlinked mentions - Especially on "Best X" type of list posts
• "Steal" links from less authoritative websites
• Write testimonials
• Offer case studies
• Mention influencers on your content
• Add surveys/quizzes
• Regularly launch promotions/giveaways/contests
• Offer a pro-bono service
• Build and offer a free tool
• Update and/or repurpose content regularly

By now, you should be wondering why i havent mention PBNs or blog commenting?

Well, there´s a reason for that.

DON´T DO THEM!

On that same topic, be very careful when approaching these linkbuilding techniques...

They are among some of the most toxic and harmful link building tactics today.

• Press releases
• PBNs
• Blog comments
• Discussion Forum Links
• Links from foreign guestbooks
• Many random NoFollow links
• Social bookmark links
• Directory submissions
• Links from Fiverr, SEOClerks or other cheap link building services
• Links built by automatic link building programs

You have to be clear on this...Linkbuilding it´s a process that takes time.

Don´t try to overstress it!

Authority and organic traffic is not something you build in a few months or by getting a couple of underserved links from higher authority sites (especially if they are part of a PBN).

Do the work, be patient and consistent and results will come.

If you want to buy, check https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/seo-link-building.43/ and look for Guest posting/Outreached Links threads and get a better idea about prices.

If you want to do them yourself, simply have a look at your competitors and get links from the best sites that link to them, that's a good start. Email webmasters and discuss content, links, costs.

Just curious, why do you not recommend press releases? I notice a lot of dropshipping stores use this to get the As seen on NBC etc claim on their websites so it has that social proof going for it at least

If you're not into buying, scrape links from your competitor & start building on your own.

There are lots of methods increase Back links.

1. Link Exchange - Reciprocal, 3 way link exchange

2. Web Directories - One way link submission

Don't do the number 1, try guest post instead

Op , I will cover one way that we acquire links for projects without buying them. Most of the time

Here is the basic process:
1. find ranking articles in your niche with good link profiles all on same topic. Good traffic articles . These are the articles you need to make your
content better then , also you will be going after the links that these sites have. So gather 2-5 articles that are ranking move to stope two.

2. Craft a piece of content that is more in depth touching on the topic make your content a bit longer , use more images , even video if you can - the key here is to create a 5X better article maybe use a different angle but it has to be better and more in depth.

3. Using your favorite tool comb through the back link profiles of the articles you want to beat , make spreadsheet with most powerful to least powerful the links they used to rank you will use as well.

4. Then, Have a team member or yourself find the emails or social profiles of the webmasters articles you looked up starting with the best links first. , you need to reach out to let them know you read there article and have a great resource.

5. Insure your email or social message is not to short ,
be kind and thoughtful something like this perhaps:
“Your a reader of there blog and you love it. I noticed you linked out to a resource but I have an excellent addition or replacement resource that would really stand out for your readers. See my article here. You can send a message and follow up 2 days later but that is all.

Some site owners will offer a post or ask you to pay , this is up to you
but.....

If you create an article that is better and more comprehensive and do not be lazy you need to email at least 50 prospects you will earn some links.

Hope this helps OP ,this is one of many ways to gain links but if you have a budget this is theway to go.

Analyze your high competitor backlink, list the source of backlink, and make it for your site! I'm sure it's work.

Because Google considers them to be "unnatural".

This is not my opinion but Jonh Mullers.

Last year in a hangout video he stated exactly that.

Also, Google itself has stated this in the past.

Since those are unnatural gained links that people should make them nofollow.

In fact, in Google´s Webmaster Guidelines Link Schemes document it highlights the types of linking that can negatively impact search results.

And in there, you can read one SEO linkbuilding tactic to avoid is placing “links with optimized anchor text in articles or press releases distributed on other sites.”

As mention above, Google describes these “unnatural links” as “links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page.”

Maybe, i was a little harsh on PR and i should have stated that they aren´t toxic or bad.

They surely can have a positive impact on your organic traffic but it won´t do much from an SEO standpoint of view.

This is good...BUT, leaving PBN and buying links on the table? You miss a lot man.

Properly built PBN is most effective link building.

And about buying links? How do google know if you buy link or not? They DON'T.

So please...don't spread wrong info.

If you are buying links, only buy from good quality PBN.

My main source of Backlinks is outreach.

As a general rule, i believe it´s a mistake when people trying to outsmart Google.

I don´t see that as a sustainable SEO strategy in the long run.

It is just a matter of time before PBNs are just a thing of the past.

But, in the end, this is my own personal opinion.

IT's really very tough question - main idea is to get good backlink count over some time and not like that many anyway. I do want to see them but it do not work at all anyway. Care too see that ? Use some indexing tools for that. It should help.
