below is the response they sent me..

This is what they sent me, but I have a ton of original content on my sports news site, the thing that baffles me is they claim I need all that stuff but if you type in google news a search term many times you get some cheap bloggers site with no Author or writers and they just aggregate news...but yet I cannot get approved?

I typed in a search on google news looking at any info on david archuleta and this site was on the top http://www.fashion.ie/aggregator/go...s-album-top-amazon-holiday-chart-duet-charice ,

http://www.fashion.ie/ has NO WRITERS named at all, and they have no staff section that I can think of but this blog is basically an aggregator site for fashion and entertainment news. but yet they get approved by google news while my site gets rejected. I have 3 writers who help post up stories, and I get articles submitted by readers of my blog and my newsfeed is associated press articles, just like espn, and other sites have.

Does anyone know how to get approved?

Nice try to submit to google news buddy ;) but this will never work for you or your site is really pure genius. To see your article in google news, you need to submit press releases to prweb, prlog, ... google will scrape them into Google News ;)

    Hope this help.

    Hey Simon

I managed to get accepted onto Google News recently, although I wasn't expecting to after I'd read about a lot of people getting rejections. The site had only been live for a few days and only had half a dozen articles.

Heres a few things that may help:

    • Make sure the site looks good and the articles are well written, and have 400+ words
    • Add in somethings you might find on a news site, polls, news tickers, social bookmarking etc
    • Have a contact us page with a contact form
    • Have an about us page with a link to each member of the team and an email address or contact form for them. I didn't have bio's or lots of information just name and position and a contact link.
    • Have at least one person marked as Editor in Chief and one Editor
    • If its only you then just pretend you have more, at least 2, create seperate email addresses for each so it all looks legit.
    • I also noted that I would be using News sitemaps, which might make Google think you've done your research.
By the sounds of it you've got a good site so you just need to resubmit and make out your a bit bigger then you actually are :)

    Good luck

    1. Ensure your URLs are generating sequential three digit numbers for postings - ie yoursite.com/news/001news.html. Make sure you're generating a good sitemap [sitemap.xml]
    2. As mentioned above, have a specific editorial page detailing editor, writing staff and emails.
    3. Ensure posts have a publishing date. It also helps if you have a 'last modified date' in there too.
    4. You should be having a couple of posts of unique content every day. Not scraped, unique, but you can cite on other site's reviews and content.
    5. Try and try again - but leave a couple of months in between applications. Make sure that you're in good shape before you apply.
    6. No-one knows except Google for sure, but it is said that there are only about 6k sites worldwide in the English section of Google News. Expect traffic to triple if you get in there.

Bonus - use Google Search on your site.
Bonus - use RDF on your site.
Bonus - use a Drupal install as your CMS and add the Open Calais semantic logging system. This will auto-magically generate new pages of content grouping similar posts together - this'll start to prepare you for your application to Google News as it is rocket fuel for Page Rank and for people finding you AKA SEO.

    Good Luck.

SimonSez ;) Believe me or not, there's a ton of sites like prweb, prlog there, google is your friend, submit alot of press releases into them will make your site listed in google news. Stop asking, start doing ;) Your site will never listed if you're just asking people and never take action.

If you submitted quality pr, you will be fine with Google without being banned. Jst my 10c :D

well I need to ask man cause I want to get other peoples opinion on this...also you never told me they charged I thought it was free lol.

Im just scared to invest some money only to fail and it not work out. I already invested a lot of cash and my site never even got any traffic, I was buying those Ebooks and they basically were all the same stuff.

I lost a lot of cash and im really just nervous, why should i spend the 100 or so bucks for 1 article on pr web?
