Building backlinks is a nice way to be noticed by google. How many visitors are you getting from those backlinks you have made?

most of the time my sites appear in google by just using piongomatic, and creating a backlink in squidoo or hubpages.

If by noticed you mean getting indexed it is very simple. Create a rss feed for you site ( if you don't already have one),create 3 email addresses ( google, yahoo and msn) and then sign up to your feed with each one. By doing this you are going to add your content directly to the search engines. If done correctly, the content should appear in your google reader, in your my.yahoo and in your my.msn.

If you don't know how to do this search google. You'll find it explained better. Anyway..it's simple.

Do some of the many things mentioned on this forum to get noticed - articles, forums, press releases, videos, directory submissions, exchange links, etc etc etc.

There are a number of things i use to get my site noticed, mainly the most trusted and traditional footwork used by many other web masters.

I use dragon naturally speaking with a headset which means i can write or rewrite 500 word articles in less than 10 minutes. Generally speaking, i write 3 -5 articles and submit them to article directories such as ezine articles (google index them frequently) and i also look for other webmasters who accept articles on their sites which i can link back to my pages from.

I submit my site map to google as well and use bookmarking deamon to bookmark my posts.

    just my small contribution.

You can ping the site using something like ping-o-matic or just get a backlink from a high PR site like DIGG

but I hear new sites are sanboxed for months as well? I have obtained a PR9 backlink and about 10 pr6+ backlinks for the site. It really should rank first page on Google no problem. I can't even see it on the first 10 pages. Only 150,000 competing sites without "" mark.
