How do you feel about IM from an ethical standpoint?

From a moral perspective, do you ever feel like you should be adding more value to the world than re-directing people to certain links or webpages. Do you try to be involved in niches that actually add value to the end user? If you are in the absolute low end niches, is it merely a means to an end for you?

I know the game is the game. But sometimes I feel as though I could be contributing more to the world...

In my prespective I am giving to people what the want through my links and shit.
They are surfing around left handed so I am giving them the opportunity to use the right hand that they are so desperately trying to.

Honestly, if you think you can give more to our fcked up society I would strongly advice you to find the way and do so.
 
I started to do IM to make my life better. I really couldn't care less about the end user. I was born to live my own life, not worry about how others are living their lives via their choices.

Take it like any other business. The goal of the business is to make money. Not everything has to impact the world in a positive way.

Once you're profitable, you can do all the good you're pining for. But when it's IM - you do everything there is to stay above the fold.

Do you ask the guy who sells hot dogs in the corner, around the street from your house, "Bro, do you ever feel like you should be adding more valie to the world than feeding people these sandwiches that are neither hot, nor a dog?"

Value is perceptive. Be a kind person. And you've already done your part in joining the niceness of the world.

Once you're big enough - you can justify your money with CSR. Until then, keep hustlin'.
 
I've been doing IM for a good while now, over these years I've learned that to sustain or grow a business(brands) you have to provide value to the customer. That's at your peak point of your business, but if you're just starting out with little to no capital then you need to worry about your own sustainability in this "industry" first. Once you have stable income streams and enough capital it can be a good time to think of the value proposition.

Hey what's wrong with IM in your eyes? It's the same as plain marketing in terms of morality. You want to contribute more to the world... Great, just go ahead. It's not mutually exclusive.

I really really do not understand what's the point. Until you do not cheat/spam/scam others, you are not mean.
 
I don't redirect users to any offers and run instagram/other social media for brand purposes with a low of value for end users
 
I only promote things I like myself that makes sense I consider.
 
For now I'm thinking only the money from what Im doing and not how unethical it is, later, on my life I would try make an impact to the outside world.
 
IM Marketing isn't an unethical thing overall. But sadly many use it with unethical methods. I have nothing against companies listening through my phone mics to give me advertisements I would actually care for. What bothers me though, are all the people who use shady tactics like spamming Forums, Comments and Social Media. I am well aware that they don't reach much but every cent they are earning is a cent too much. I'm sorry if I attacked someone on a personal level but I think the majority of us can agree with me.

I meam heck.. I sometimes use those shady tactics myself because it's so freakin hard to establish a company in my country, so it's a way better solution to do it under the counter if you just test things out.
 
You don't hurt the user in any way with IM
