How do you efficiently go about gathering backlinks?

There's obviously a lot of ways to go about reaching out to other pages for links. If you have sites in a relevant niche for you and want to acquire backlinks from them, what in your experience is most efficient? Is there anything in particular you like to bring up in your "pitch" that helps?

Money always works. Guest posts or any other link building requires lot of money now.

I don't think there are many that doesn't do that anymore lol

There's still a lot of potential of saving money still though by doing proper backlink research.

Yes! Money, of course. If you pay a good amount, you will most likely win. But this theory doesn't work for all platforms; There is also some bad a**.
