    1. How important is the Page Authority vs DA/PR? Example, is a .edu (or any domain) with a PA 1 and a DA 92 a quality link to have? would something that has moderate/even (26/32) PA/DA be better?

    2. Do multiple links on one page dilute the quality of a link? example, if you had a site with hundreds of other niche related links or maybe just 50, is that a quality link? If multiple links do dilute the quality, at what point do you NOT want the link.

    3. Relevancy, how important is it? I noticed a lot of my competitors have links from RANDOM sites. The niche could be cup cakes an the linking domain is a topic on automobiles. How crucial is it that the link is actually relevant?

    4. What else makes a link a quality link vs a crap link you don't want?

    Thanks

In regards to #2 I mean a single page on a site, not the whole site.

    I beleave that PA 1 and a DA 92 better than (26/32) PA/DA
    becouse Moz cant
physically guarantee such parameter as PA. Moz isnt Google, Moz hasnt such server perfomance. Thats why this parameter cant be used as primary.

    1. Details about how the Page Authority score is determined can be found in the Moz's knowledge base, but backlinks from higher DA sites will always outrank the ones with low DA and high PA. Its even better if it was from a .edu domain.

    2. Yes. It depends on the external links that were already there. For ex, if someone spammed a page with a viagra link and the page have just 5 external links, I'd still not post my link there. If the page is clean from spam, deciding whether the page will pass the link juice or not depends on that specific page's pagerank/PA and the total number of external links. If the PR/PA is higher, the page would pass the link juice to all of them but if there's 50 external links and the PA is 1, there's no benefit in getting that link.

    3. Relevancy is not that important if the linking page has high PR but you can easily rank with a few quality relevant links. Both quantity and quality win here.

    4. The more knowledge you have about Google's updates and SEO in general, the easier you will find answers to that question.

For one, I check the OBL rate. A backlink from site with OBL over 20% or so is not really worth my time/money.
    For two, is it relevant?
Other factors like DA and linking domains matter too, of course, but I don't care about these factors when deciding whether I want a link from the site or not.

    1. According to me PA1 and DA 92 is better than PA 26 and DA 32 because if you have a high DA then it will help in indexing new pages of content like blog posts more quickly and you will get better chance of ranking higher in the SERP's.

Ex: If you have one backlink from authority site and have 100's backlink from PR2 and PR3 sites then according to me one backlink from authority site would be better because authority site always has high DA.

    2. It depends upon the quality of the links, if they are niche related and from high PR sites (having different IP's) then multiple links does not affect the quality of the link.

    3. In my opinion relevancy plays an important role in high quality link building. You may have links from RANDOM sites but it should be relevant.

If you want long term results then you must have good backlink profile as recently update of Google i.e. Penguin 3.0 is rolling out and the sites that has irrelevant backlink profile are getting penalized.

What matters is the quality of a link, not PA, PR, DA. The link juice is given by the link of a domain and not by any metrics as you can fake nearly each and every metric by throwing spammy links on it.

The only metric difficult to manipulate is Majestic Trust Flow (TF), so checking TF and better the CF/TF ratio (= Trust ratio) might be better than looking on PR,DA etcetera.

Sure .gov and .edu links have higher trust and authority.

Relevance is one important factor in link building, so better not to use backlinks of a car site to link to a cake site!

    Cheers

That's kind of what I'm trying to figure out. What puts the "quality" in a quality link?

I've herd that TF is a better metric because its difficult to manipulate, but I like pa/da/pr because of the browser addons that let me check for them quickly and efficiently. I'm not sure if majestic has an addon or not. would be nice if they did though. although with that being said I'm not sure how high TF you need for it to be a quality link.

If you use PA / DA / PR just because your browser has add ons, you are at risk to get scammed!

Majestic has also an add-on for Firefox and Chrome that displays majestic metrics.

Trust flow is the most powerful metric as it represents a metric that comes from authority links to a given Domain / URL. Authority sites are selected by Majestic human SEO experts as a basket of top trustworthy websites and calculate the link juice that flows from these websites to a given domain / url, it suggests how much you can trust the website.

The new Majestic CF / TF ratio is a good metric to quickly select the quality of a domain and filter out low quality and spammy domains.

If you have CF / TF > 15 (better > 20), than you need to have both near equal.

    a) CF/TF ratio is close to 1 or CF/TF ratio less than 1.8 = natural domain / url not spammed

    b) High CF / low TF = lots of links, but not from authority sites (mainly spam, directories, link farms)

    c) Low CF / high TF = lots of authority links, but they are mostly no-follow or blog commenting, pass only very little juice, cause there are so many comments.

    Hope this helps
    Dan

I like the way you worded this. I would also like to add and maybe help clarify, relevancy is very important. You do not want to have spammy unrelated content backlinks.

Links from relevant sites:- Search engine wants to display relevant content in the search results. So, links from relevant site with relevant article will fetch you good results.

Real traffic:- If a site has good updated content then visitors are always likely to stick with the sites. You can gain consistent visitors.

Backlinks from trustworthy sites :- You can gain high quality links from highly relevant authority sites which will also contain other authority outbound links.

    - Anchor text (this is the text that is clickable) should be as descriptive as possible which include your targeted keywords.
    - Social Bookmarking websites are great way to get backlinks
    - Themed forums can be found by searching for your desired keyword then adding "forum" to the end.
    - Try submitting to niche directories first as your best links will come from sites that are themed with the same content yours is.
    - Write original content for your descriptions and titles. By doing this you will avoid any duplicate content penalty that might get enforced in the future.

hey, with your words. Can I use CF / TF ratio to measure why some sites RANK better than me?

    For example:

one site CF 40 TF 38
my site CF 40 TF 20

CF 40 TF 38 will get the better rank than me right?

OR: when i need make some links, i need to check the CF/TF ratio 1st?

Nope, ranking doesn't depend only on particular thing. It depends upon various factors, likewise CF/TF are one such factor to be considered while ranking a site. So, its no wonder site with CF 40 TF 20 will rank high when compare with the site CF 40 TF 38 site.

No, the higher the TF, the higher the authority of backlinks, responsible for Trust.

a site with CF40/TF 38 will rank higher when compare with the site CF40/TF20!

The closer the CF/TF ratio to zero, the better the URL (Majestic blog)

    Cheers
