How do you determine a realistic goal?

I'm running a campaign in Bing for an affiliate product, which does not use an opt-in, only a landing page.

So what I'd like to know is, what should my goal be to start out with, and what should I look at and adjust to work towards that goal?

Does not matter it is not PPC specific, take your main goal and break it down as much as you can.

Yes, but, I don't yet have a goal. The first problem I have is, I don't know where to start with a goal. I wouldn't know what to base it on.
 
By having a step-by-step plan drawn out to reach that goal.
If you cannot reach it, or the amount of time required isn't within your goal, that it isn't a realistic goal.
