How Do You Decide Which Blog Posts Need Updating?

i tend to consider a variety of criteria rather than traffic alone. articles that have some impressions or ranks but which are stagnating at page two are always the best bet since even minor tweakks could help boost their positions. i also make sure that the article is out of date that there is better content from our competitors or that the topic does not generate any more searches.

update them based on the visit you are getting and you can add more internal links to them too

If you decide to update the content check the posts that give you better stats and update that only like the ones who have better views and so on.

I usually update posts that have good impressions but low clicks, or pages losing traffic. I also refresh outdated information, improve content quality, and add better internal links when needed.

normally i do not update all my old posts randomlly. i try to find those posts which still receive some traffic nd have good backlinks or even ranked on pages two nd three previously. this way it is easier to revive those posts bcz they already have some level of authority.

I usually update the posts that are already getting some impressions. Small changes on those pages have worked well for me.

I usually look at a mix of traffic, keyword rankings, impressions and how relevant the content still is. Posts with good impressions but low clicks, declining traffic or outdated information are often the best ones to update because they have the highest potential for improvement.

I prioritize articles with high impressions but low CTR, keywords ranking on pages 2 or 3 and posts that already bring some traffic those usually deliver the biggest SEO gains with the least effort.

Ahrefs. Check the content stats, which posts are performing. I optimize the ones that are rising and just need a push.

I usually prioritize pages that already get some traffic or have impressions but are stuck those are often the easiest wins compared to starting from zero..

check how your pages are performing on Ahrefs, filter them and check on what keywords they are ranking for. Then update content on these pages, based on keywords that have best potential.

I definitely update the article based on traffic. And don't forget internal linking.

You should update them if you notice the traffic on them is dropping significantly.
Hi, I update posts by reviewing traffic, rankings, impressions, keyword potential and business value first. Then I prioritize content with the highest opportunity to improve visibility, engagement, and conversions.

I usually prioritize posts that already get impressions or rank on pages 2-3, since they often have the best chance of improving with an update. I also look at traffic trends, content freshness and whether the article still matches what users are searching for.

I check Google Search Console first. If a page has lots of impressions but few clicks, I update the title and content.
I do not update every old article. I only spend time on posts that have a chance to bring more traffic or leads after a refresh.
I usually focus on older posts that still have a little momentum. If they are getting some impressions or occasional traffic but have stopped growing i will update those first. In my experience, a few well placed improvements often deliver better results than trying to revive content that never attracted much attention.

I look at traffic first, but I also check if the information is outdated. Some posts need updates even if they still get visitors.
