I have been running an online business for the past 3-4 years and it has been going well, but I have decided to let it wind down and move into something else. The problem is that I don't really have anything else that I give a shit about. The old business was a "sexy" business that I had my identity tied up in, meaning that when I talked about it and knew in my mind that that was what I did, I felt good.

I am having trouble finding something that I like that much, so its been a bit of a struggle. I've kind of settled on something extremely basic in the meantime (aka digital agency, i.e. "we help you get clients") but I find it incredibly sterilized and boring and I could give a fuck about actually getting people clients. But I am choosing it because I know it does well and all businesses basically need new clients.

However, I don't really care. Technically I guess its somewhat interesting, but I don't have the same level of interest in it as I did the previous business. I am only choosing it because I know a bit about it and think it will be a quick win, which I would prefer right now to something that will take 6 months to make $1.

I am really struggling with this because its preventing me from really going all in. It just feels so cringe, so boring, so like... normal. I don't know how to explain it. But on the other hand I feel like it's the "right choice" because it can make money and its reasonably easy. I know I'm going in circles here but I am trying to explain it in a way that makes sense.

Anyway curious to know if any of you have experienced something like that and if you have any advice. Thanks

You will find motivation in providing a service in the same niche you left
Since you find it easy to do and well knowledgeable about that niche
It should be easy to run it for others

your business has been doing well, you have a passion for it (you find it "sexy" in your own words), but you have decided to move on? makes no sense. there is some information missing here.

So you want to shut down a business that you enjoy working on and is doing well but don't find anything else exciting?
The lack of information only means your current business is either not sustainable or not legal. Which one is it? Because no one would do what you're trying to do.

Just to clarify, why you've suddenly decided to shut down a business that you enjoy so much?

Wouldn't it make more sense to continue doing the same thing, or at least start something in the same niche?

something is not right here.....

Did Google destroy your website's rankings or something?

And while I'm here.....I just noticed this in the image from the comment above me........never seen this before.

Cash_Machine isn't even a real human. I've seen it all now.

Passion makes money, Work pays the bills, If you are not chasing your bills and financially solid go chase your passion bro.
Good luck!

I want to back you up!
Maybe try more things, you don't like digital agencies, that is totally ok, bro. Then try more industries. Doesn't mean you have to do that.
If you don't want to go back to OF, there will be another operation job makes you into it.

do it for cash not passion. treat it like a job you dont love but pays well.
focus on systems and results and ignore feelings about it

I think what attracts you to OF marketing is overcoming the difficulties.
But at the same time it's what causes the headaches.
If you can afford it, build something big. Create some products, run the Ads for them.
You will fall in love with some products and it will keep you going, it will provide challenges.
Don't work with other people, it's just tiring most of the time.

Not particularly, I hate the marketing stuff. It's the bane of my existence. It's the other side of the coin of things like adult/gambling, which have hungry userbases. Just reaching them is the problem.

Creating products... do you mean info products? I have made stuff for OFM before, it sold ok. But that was based on my reputation at the time since I also made content about it. That's an interesting idea though, that didn't occur to me.

No info products. You can if you want but you don't have to. You must open your mind. You can create literally any product that exists, water bottle, desk, electronic devices. There must be something where you thought "I can do that better".
You can build a brand. First sell some stuff from Alibaba then use the funds you get to build your own product.
I also hate the marketing part but it's a must for everyting so you must get that down.
