Hey guys, sorry for this newb question, but how do you customize what google shows in your listing on the search engine result page? Mine just pulls random text from my text and I'm looking to customize it.

Normally it's the page title tag in blue, url in green, and either meta description tag or an excerpt from your text that contains the most of the keywords in black.

If they decide to use excerpts from the parts of your content with the most keywords you have no control over that, but you should write a good meta description in case they don't.

You have to use Title tags and Description tags to customize your title and description.

If you haven't specified anything, Google randomly picks a suitable content from your webpage or from DMOZ description (if you are listed there)

If you don't write it yourself its automatically chosen by google, i use all in one seo to put my own for wordpress
