How do you cope with depression?

All I need is a sheet of paper and something to write with, and then I can turn the world upside down.

Might sound weird but for me just focusing on one thing and acting as a dumb for the rest of things in the world.

Do you have a task to do? Complete that and don't care about the rest of things in the world until you get it done

This way you take care of comparison, social media, etc in a single shot ignorance is bliss

I'd recommend you watch the whole podcast, but if you want to get the answer specifically to your question then go to the 2h 15min mark

Are you an experienced "depressionist"? I've been dealing with it for 2 decades. It comes and goes in severity, but never goes away. For me I've found vitamins help, mainly insane amounts of Vitamin C, like 1000%+ recommended dose. And I've just made a promise to myself to never give in to the darkness again. It can go fuck itself. Counseling etc has 0 effect in my experience.

Realizing your triggers and living a positive fulfilling life

Just "Cheer up" If depression is a disease, being cheerful is the cure. You can get depression after your dead, then at least you really got some shit to worry about.

It's common. Happens to everyone.

There is no solution as such. The least we can do is stop beating ourselves for being sad. We understand our limitations and not blame ourselves for being low, depressed or burned out

Seek medical help if it's serious.

I do Brahmi in the morning with my green tea, Omega 3+hornygoatweed in the afternoon and Aswaganda, Melatonin and Zolfresh in the night with a cup of chamomile tea.

On another note. I noticed I have been less happier doing online business with less/no direct human interaction. I was a lot more happier when I had my offline businesses meeting people everyday pre COVID.

I'm not a doctor, but I am a consumer of health-related podcasts and a reader of PubMed.

Understand that depression is simply imbalanced brain chemistry, which can be addressed through supplements, physical and mental exercises (including meditation), or prescription drugs. Do your research and find the solution that works for you.

If you have a family you love, maybe it’s time to spend some quality time together, do something fun and create lasting memories.

If you're truly depressed for an extended period, please seek help. Depression cannot be "cured" or "treated" on your own. Therapists can help you, trust me, it's worth it!

I have something closer to schizoaffective disorder.

I take 10 mg of escitalopram, 150 mg of pregabalin, caffeine.
I use mirtazapine to help me with sleep because my sleep is like being half awake, so for 8 hours of sleep I feel like 4 hours of sleep.

Then if I feel bored, I drink alcohol.

Exercise, great food, good food, fast food. All this stuff gives me some relief. It doesn't matter if you do it routinely. All that matters is that it makes you feel good.

Then with all my thoughts I rearrange them. I recognize types of thoughts and change the flow, so they sound closer to reality. For example, I recognize this thought is exaggeration, that thought is generalization, that thought is false and unrealistic.

Like someone else said, you can't fix it without external help. I didn't figure out ANY of that stuff by myself.

I try to talk to someone I trust get sunlight move a bit and keep a simple routine
Small steps every day help more than anything
Don’t stay isolated

Move to a warm country. Works perfectly until they want to scam you out of everything you own xD.

It seems a common disease. So how do you deal it? Without just having sleeping pills.
It's crucial not to let the illness get worse. A proper treatment plan is essential to avoid consequences that could harm your quality of life.

Its just a mindset.

Reduce your screentime on computer/mobile.
stop watching Reels.
stay away from social media.
Take morning walk, join Gym.
Eat healthy food.
Make new friends and talk to them.
Meet funny friends. old friends.

That should help.

Figure out the causes, if possible change the environment to a new place. Visit a mall, cinema, include daily exercises like jogging. Always repeat positive words to your self like "no problem last forever, it just a matter of time". Never take drugs, alcohol to suppress it. Finally always talk to someone about it even a stranger, it makes you feel better.
