I am thinking it would be best to use a special instant messenger through a proxy so that I can chat to people about internet marketing without people spying on me, and also use a proxy for all my research in the web browser. Please tell me how you people organize these tasks.

Why are you so paranoid? CIA spying on you?

By the way, if you want to remain anonymous, use VPN instead of Proxy.

There are some sites out there that work as an iframe of sorts so you can surf though them but a proxy and clearing your machine should do it.

Go to the hidden internet with Tor, nobody can really track you then but still keep your system clean and use TrueCrypt for your main HDD.

what kind of IM are you planning?! I can vouch for RoyalVPN for anonymity, and if you're super-paranoid, get a separate laptop (a burner, if you will). Not necessary, though!
