how do you become really rich?

everywhere I look, there are rich people. There are people who could stop working today and do nothing for the rest of their lives.

example: my cousin. I don't know too much about him because he is a very private person, but I know he owns like 3 apartment buildings (note: not 3 individual apartments, but apartment buildings), each building containing like 20 apartments...He probably owns more, but I only found 3 by doing a little investigation online.
He is a doctor who makes probably $2000 a day just from his practice.
oh, and he owns a couple of clinics. and he owns an optometry practice.

I don't even know what motivation people like this have for working. why work when you have all the money you could ever need?

PS the answer is not "have rich parents" I know for a fact this guy has received nothing from his parents.

Well, you should know that there are people who actually likes their work, not only the amount of money they get.

Well you also have to consider how much work he put into getting to this point in his life. You don't come out of your mother's womb already wealthy (some do, but not in this case). You have to work for it. If all you ever do is admire that guy across from you who seems to have it all, and you are wondering why you have nothing, it is because you aren't putting in the effort. I recently started a journey with my take on the world of IM. Of course I'm shocked at how well people are doing on this site, but that only motivates me to do better to be more like them. If all you ever do is look at your neighbor wondering how he did it, all you have to do is start putting in the time and effort to achieve and work towards what he has.

Win the lottery and put more effort into IM and don't waste time creating such a thread.

Hard work, hard work and hard work. That's the answer.
You said your cousin is a doctor, so he probably put a lot of time and effort in his education. I assume he continued this way of behaving and worked many hours per day as a doctor. He also maybe established business connections with other doctors.
Most people who are rich (rich people are still the minority btw) are working really hard for their money. I guess you know the phrase: Nothing comes from nothing. And it's totally true. I know a guy who's millionair. He's retired now and enjoys the bright side of life (at age 31) but he used to work at least 11 hours every day including weekends for years. He was really as busy as a bee and then he sold his company for about $50 million.

Create the right formula towards success.

I wonder if your cousin posted on forums,
asking 'how to get rich' and the like,

Or if he went out and made some money?
Success starts with you discovering (on your own)

Pursue your interests with the fullest intent,
work your ass off, then scale up!

Well considering he's a doctor, he probably went to school for a billion years racking up degrees.

And as far as "why work when you have all the money you need" the only way you get rich is by working

This is a weird question. You're asking how to get rich, but it seems from the description of your cousin that he laid a blueprint to how he achieved his personal wealth. He's a doctor and probably used that money to invest in apartments. He got rich by working hard and working smart and going to school. Now you dont gotta go to school to get rich but you damn sure need to to become a doctor.

The secret to wealth is savings. Don't get married, have kids, or visit cam girls as all three drain your wallet. :sgrin:

when you're contented with what you have and happy, then you are rich.

The answer is simple. Because people naturally always want something more. When you are richer you will grow your connections and new business/investment opportunities occur all the time and talking with new businessmen regularly also make you want to strive more and more.

Also, people want diversification because they are afraid they would lose their earning someday. It's normal actually. Why on earth would you stop working when you have $2000/day earning? You would probably start investing in real estate, trading, etc. Maybe you will even start a restaurant. Who is stupid enough to stop working? The world is changing at a rapid pace. You certainly don't want to stay stagnant

Rob a bank, don't get caught

Not everyone got there easily. Sometimes you have to give up a lot and get through some tough times to get rich. Believe it or not, lots of rich dudes earned their life. You don't get to be rich by sitting all day complaining.

Few years back there was some serial killer doctor in the news, who got will-money off of his patients.

If that's not enough, look up a book called outliers which is a really interesting study of success and riches.

You are experiencing, for some reason, an internal conflict. You aren't seeing wealthy people everywhere. Your mind has taken the character of a wealthy person who is abusing you. Now, do some soul searching. If you were powerful, would you be kind to someone like you are now? Are you sure? This might just be you having some foresight to how karma works.

You can lease a BMW for $150/month. Drive that leased BMW in any poor neighborhood and you will receive gazes of people who think you're so cool. So cool. This is why people buy/lease luxury cars, to show off. It isn't about the quality of the automobile, please. They saw someone else with it, were impressed, and want to get that feeling. Thing is, coupled with people being impressed are those who are depressed and those that despise.

$2000 a day is upper-middle class where I live. These people are still looked down to some degree by those making 2-10+ times this. They are usually the ones who buy nice houses, but on far too small a plot of land, and usually with an electric gate. (Dear reader, if you ever have a home with your own gate, you will not degenerate it into a HORIZONTAL GARAGE DOOR. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? YOU WILL HIRE A GATE ATTENDANT, BECAUSE YOU ARE A HUMAN BEING AND NOT...I'll stop).

Now to the Fun Stuff: To become insanely wealthy, you need to commit a crime, but it must be legal within some framework. A popular method is to be hired directly by your government to break the law. This is how almost every single wealthy modern family came into existence, through the passing of ill-gotten gains through inheritance(which is the ultimate money laundering scheme, which is why the estate and death taxes need to be looked into).

Before the modern industrial time, people become superior wealthy through conquest. That is, legal ill-gotten gains. If you think about it, the splendor of every great city got its magnificence because the strong citizens of that area took material goods from foreign peoples. Every city like Rome is built from bricks of coagulated blood. Pirates are what drive civilization. Raiders. Noblemen.

If you want to get really rich, become a sociopath. If you want to be wealthy, open your eyes.
