Hey guys I've had a youtube channel for a year now and seen minimal success but I have seen some, enough to make me keep going.

I've invest in software such as tubebuddy to help me find good keywords to use in order to get more viewers.
One video has managed to pick up 40,000 months later just from the right words which is excellent!

However my newer videos I am posting, I'm finding it increasingly hard to just make a video on an interesting topic and rank for it.
I see other videos ranking high for those keywords and their account doesn't have high social signals.

Is there a way to get my video to rank the youtube search results for a few keywords easily or will I have to move on?
I spent a month making this video so it's always gut wrenching finding out your topic was a bomb because of seo.

Any advice is welcome.

hm...in my opinion. The first 5 days are very important :) I add comments and likes to get the video high as soon as possible.

keywords/tags can play a role but likes and comments plus watch time all get calculated in how it ranks. If you have other videos that get views, make your new video as a suggestion
cross-post the link in other social channels too

It all depends on how competitive is the keyword you are trying to rank for. Even if you created a video with a much better quality than other channels, you still need to make a push or you won't receive any traction.

Social signals are nice, but if you want to improve your rankings - you have to focus on CTR and retention rate.

Choose strong keywords, Then include keywords in your title, Then optimize the description with keywords, After that customize the video thumbnail.

where would you get these sort of services? I thought a lot of those tactics were more damaging if anything as youtube can trace spam signals?

Major SMM panel offers such drip fed comments and likes. As they use same cluster of accounts, you're channel could get hit pretty fast.

Use tools like Tubebuddy for best long tail suggestion. YT ads is another resort to drive legit traffic.

Honestly the YT discovery ads is my go to to get some quick views but my videos keep getting rejected for political campaigns in India... it’s so bizarre as I’m not from India and my video audience is based in USA... I tried appealing twice and I just get the same auto response

Why not just exclude India from your campaign? Or you can only target the USA.

I don't think you understood what i meant mate.
I'm based in USA, my ads are targeting USA people. India is not involved in my campaign at all.
Does that make sense?

I managed to get #1 in the search term "valorant intro template" in like 2 months. But i guess it didnt have too much competition.
Just do your keyword research well and make sure you have a high audience retention.

Do you need to upload more? And maybe find a decent panel that can rank you (with views, likes, comments and shares).

First of all, are you going for a blackhat or whitehat?

Sick username by the way, wanted to weigh in my two cents. if your channel is big-ish 1K-5K subs you should be able to rank for low to mid level key words. So on a scale of 100 (competitiveness) a search volume of around 25-30 / 100 is what you want to aim for. You want your videos to have the keywords in the title tags and description. And you want to rank for long-tailed keywords. So instead of "Fornite montage" someone would want to rank for "Fortnite montage duos 2020 Gameplay" if thats a keyterm. Also you want as much traction within the first two hours of the upload, so if you have multiple youtube accounts make sure they watch all the way through, make sure that you even open an incognito tab or two and search up the keyterm and watch all the way through as well, those first two hours youtubes algorithm is determining where to index you and where to rank you, so making sure that you get as much engagement is critical. Channel authority is a huge key as well, you dont want to waiver in your topics too much because youtube will have a hard time sorting you. If you make sonic videos, then find subniches and talk about them and you will rank for sonic, as long as its in your title. The only way to rank for multiple niches is if youre a personality youtuber, and have fans that genuinely really like you no matter what you do. You can start a second channel for variety content so that way you dont get too burnt out. If you need any help feel free to DM me

Simple and to the point. Here are some golden nuggets.

Excude India from the campaigns and you'll be good.
I had 40 camapigns get hit last week with that smh

Hashtags, comments, and watch time are also other factors that impacts your ranking buddy!

Have a good day!

Use your keywords in your tags, but consider only using about 10 of the most relevant keywords.

just buy some high retention views that stick.
buy some engagements like,
comments likes etc.
if your video is good and gets some suggestions then the collected views and watchtime can help it rank higher than competitor.
