How do you accept that you chose the wrong method?

And wasted a year of your life and a couple thousand dollars?

I just want some advice on picking a good method. How do you do it?

Is it Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.?? What is it? How do you know you're not making a mistake.

How long do you think it takes to become comfortable with a new method? A few months? Another year?

I'm just bummed that I picked a dead method. I didn't know it at the time because it was my first time attempting IM.

I wish I could go back to the late 2000s. I feel like I could have done much, much better then.

What method are you talking about? I doubt it's dead you just need to be creative and put your own twist on it.

I tried email marketing. But it's dead. Spamming is over. I was so convinced I could do it after reading this, but email spam is dead.

IMO, you just need to network with marketers who are much more successful than you or find a mentor.

That was one of the main things that led me to "bigger" opportunities.

It took me about 3-4 years to find the right people that would help me (indirectly) with my campaigns.

E-mail marketing is not dead. Collecting the quality real customers is little tougher these days.
Make your conversion page/landing page to collect the customers email address.

And a perfect professional email with good offers really brings you leads.

People go to school for years, only to end up hating what they do (or they just don't excel).

Dude think about all that you have learned since you started, this is probably one of the most important lessons you can learn about Internet Marketing. Before you can have success you have to fail, and for some people failure lasts a LONG time. If a method has not made you money for a year now, I would highly suggest you either rethink your strategy or just admit that you failed and move on.

i've learned that you have to have patience. You also have to accept that there's a good chance you will fail more than you succeed, but you can't give up during those times when you fail.

I've been away for a while thinking about things. And I think I know how to move forward now. Thanks for all the advice! It really helped

You're definitely right. Whitehat email marketing is better than blackhat email marketing.

I'm definitely going to transition to legit email marketing.

Thanks for this advice. It really helped with putting things into perspective.

I've got a few ideas of what to do next. And I'm really excited about it.

You're right... I've learned a lot. And I was almost bound to fail since this was my first attempt.

Luckily, I came up with one final twist that I think has completely restored my method. It's looking really promising again. Otherwise, I have a great idea of what to do next.

Thanks for the encouragement. I looked at that post, and it really helped. Something clicked in my head, and now I think my method works again. I just have to try it. And if it doesn't work, it's okay. I'll move on quickly.

Happens to us all. But I didn't spend much maybe. Maybe around 15$ in total till date - only for hosting stuff.
I really suggest you to look back at your methods and see which part of it isn't working out for you and just try to work on it.
OR start small and just build yourself up.

People who bank hard with IM are innovators who's twists are seldom discussed until it's saturated. To get a foot in the door with any niche is often to be put in the group of majority who are still learning the fundamentals of that niche and how to twist it correctly.

I've made the mistake of spreading myself too thin with new ventures after a successful campaign and losing time/money but there are a lot of techniques you can combine between methods that make some failures worthwhile.

I think every method here should work IF you apply your own twist, you can only test what works and what not, focus on one method at a time, try it for some time, some methods require more time to get them started, and never give up, it something does not work for you then try something else until you find something you are good at.

I am three years in and still failing at methods.

Some work some dont. but i feel from the failures i have a clearer idea of what will work. And it isnt just blind faith. I get some trickles here and there which gives me ideas for the next project.

Dont listen to the delusional comments of 'every method works you just didnt try' these are from ignorant low intelligence people who never even tried the methods they speak of.

OP there are some gems that have been posted recently. In fact I've read quite a few coming from the user: BassTrackerBoats that are very current methods. You need to be smart.

I haven't found a "method" that works either, or atleast one that makes big $$. All of the methods I have on autopilot are making little cash flow. I hustle my ass off finding clients for Advertising (cuz that's what I do) and I upsell and outsource from the marketplace here. In the meantime, I'm putting multiple eggs in multiple baskets by testing out MULTIPLE methods. I can do it and stay focused though. Most can't and that's why some here will tell you to focus on one method and scale it. But as you see if you focus on one method for a year and it doesn't make anything, then what?

I think many forget what it's like to be a noob or maybe not and maybe people that give the advice of "sticking to one method" in the beginning really got on like that. I'm not.

Before BHW I was already trying methods. Selling and writing eBooks, reselling SEO, dropshipping Amazon to eBay. Had a blog making a little adsense. Shit we even got lucky back in 2011 with a CPA offer from a reputable doughnut company that made almost $10k in one day, and it was mostly traffic from Facebook. Facebook traffic was easy to gain then. You just had to engage.

But it's 2015 and you have to stay with the times. Needless to say we were very unprepared for 2012 updates to Facebook and Google and our site was dropped from the SEs due to dup content and thin posts. I mean like literally 100 word posts or less. And 100's if not thousands of them. Today the site has 3k posts on it.

So I'm saying this because I learned a valuable lesson in 2012.

NEVER PUT YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

I spend all day everyday in front of my computer. Yes I go on Vacations and take breaks. But most of the time I'm right here with my laptop. And will find a method that eventually makes big bank, so that I can quit working with clients. Infact methods I have in play since last year are scaling and I was able to see what worked and what hasn't. FOR ME.

BUt look around the forum and theres a thread from BassTrackerBoats I saw not to long ago that will get you making money today. You just have to use your brain.

You need to start small. Figure out if you can work the method, then scale up. Many people, myself included, go all in and get burned.

Stop reading methods thinking your going to get rich.

Learn SEO and I guarantee you will at least make a few thousand a month after a bit of time.
