How do videos get featured on youtube?

im tlkaing about the first reuslt that comes at the top of suggested videos on the right hand side

i was reading that its automatic.

I thought it might have been like adwords at first where you pay to get a vid featured but seems not?

So is it an auto thing or not?

If its auto can you do anyhitng to manipulate it or you should just not worry about ti and concentrate ong etting views via usual channels and featured is just lieka 'jacxkpot bonus'?

you should double check yourself when you type cause this is almost unreadable.
featured videos are being paid by their uploaders to be there.

thats not what google said. it says featutered videos are automatic and not paid for

Exactly, if it has a decent amount of views/likes and is related to the video you searched...it'll pop up.

Your video has to start getting a huge amount of views as soon as it's uploaded to be relevant enough for a featured video.

I saw videos with views (as low as) 300 featured in YT.
