How Do Spammers Make Money and is it illegal?

Depends on what type of spamming???

Like forum spamming with something like xrumer, or blog spamming with something like scrapebox is indeed blackhat, but can be used in a WH manor.

But something like email spamming without optin users is illegal and if you get caught you will soon be the new jail house "girl" down at the federal lock up.

I'm sure getting locked up for email spam doesnt put you to high up in the jail house hierarchy...

Technically, spam is illegal. Blackhat isn't illegal, although it can skirt the edges of morality and the law as well. IM'ers spam because they can. Most spammers have little or no chance at being legally sanctioned as the US, in particular Because they don't have the will or resources to do so. So for the most part, they only risk losing their monetary gains with their CPA, other networks, and a c&d here and there. Now a small amount of massive spammers....that is another story.

There are many countries where spam is still legal and is considered a normal business venture. You can't believe everything you hear folks. Its just like they say cp is illegal in all countries, a google search will prove otherwise. Its actually legal in 184 countries so by them saying thats its globally illegal, they are misrepresenting the law.

Yes, it is very illegal and very dangerous, but someone is making money because they are willing to risk prison for it!

What prison man ? The maximum i can get for sending millions of email there, is few thousand euros penatly.. and i pay it out easy and laughin on them.. )

what will happen in countries where spamming is illegal??

It depends on what country you are in obvisouly it is going to be different for each country.
Not only that but its going to depend on how many mails you sent & how you sent them.
Also what kind of content you were sending out & where it was being hosted matters to.

You can buy OPT-In email lists, & mailing software (expensive) then mail them offers legally i believe. I used to do spamming a few years ago. I had some programs that I could run that would do my emailing for me, I would have to find my own mail servers to send my mail from & proxies I would just search the web for them.. You would make your landing page then just type out the email you wanted to send to everyone. Load a list of your email addresses then start it up. Before you knew it you had mailed a whole boat load of emails literaly. These programs used to be shared on the web back when chatrooms dominated the internet before the social networks existed & the torrents. Anyway I could run the program & check my stats in the chatroom. they used to call them progs n such. You can see them in chatrooms from time to time but now a days its just c-coms (mp3players). I did this for a year or two then a friend of mine gave me a program.. wasn't really sure at the time what it was for i think it scanned for proxys or servers or something. anyway i was fucking it it and i couldnt get it to work good & i left it running over night a day or two later i got a letter from my isp telling me they knew i was sending out mails that i should stop so i did. I was only like 15 but I made more money then then I do now sadly.. I hate my life. The only thing I can recall about sending out mails that I didn't really like was setting up the new campaigns & finding/testing out new sponsors when a affiliate went down. I miss hitting the magic start button & waking up with money. arrrrrrrR

i think the maker of the software i used years & years ago had an account on this forum. I saw another version of his software on the buy/sell with tons of replies but it got removed.
