How do people make money with shorts containing copyrighted content?

I'm seeing a lot of channels uploading shorts of famous TV shows.
I just a saw a guy who created his channel in january, already got 30 millions views.

Can they actually monetize those videos?How do they avoid getting banned? is it allowed?
I'm not sure I get it

Short answer yes, realistically no, why? Well the owners are aware of this but have had issues requesting Google to do anything about their platform.

Right now it's all you can eat, until regulation kicks in and it will, where as for long format videos yes most likely always even if edited something with the video would be flagged.

Can they monitize the video? Yes and no, like I said it's determined on a variety of factors including permission, time video was up, and how many red flags that account got during the upload of the video(no one would know but the uploader)but one thing is clear they can do affiliate marketing on uploaded videos.

The only way we would know is with the account on YouTube.

I am thinking of doing the same, lets see how it goes. Youtube ads is not the only option to monetize your shorts.

It depends on no of red flags they are getting from youtube.If they are safe yet could be there luck. I will advice you to stay safe . If you want to get copyright free content you can try a filter called 'Creative commons. While another way could be to bring significant changes in content to make it look different. Again you need to stay carefull.

maybe fair share , you have to give %

maybe is not monetizing the channel, youtube will always banned them and if they are able to avoid the algo will cath them and don't forget the viewer is reporting everyone, maybe they bot the views and are just preparing the channel for something else but maybe because is a short there is like a legal gap that can be too many seconds to avoid a problem, but testing will do.

Some channels are really nailing it .
