How do movie uploaders actually benefit from uploading piracy content?

There's people who do it for ideology. They earn brownie points.
There's people for do it for money. Multiple ways to make money out of uploading stuff.

In my country, websites like that is not being touch by police if u dont mess around with local movies. Maybe you get domain block from local ISP but u still can solve it by changing your domain. And to be honest, people do like websites like that in here. Most of websites like that can earn money from pop up ads, cpa, video hosting, and independent ads from bet website or some adult product selling.

No specifics but this website earn enough for a living, pay expenses, buy my desired techs and hardware's, I am happy with it.

OP do research on Scene releases? A lot of pirates do it for the kudos of getting the first rip/copy out there.
