How do influencer discovery platforms get demographics?!

I have researching a method on how to get TikTok creators' demographics like ages, genders, locations of followers and looking at their API they don't provide these data only directly to the creators' themselves unlike Meta, so how do influencer discovery platforms or marketplaces offer these insights I won't name them but you can search the best ones on google and all of them have very good detailed data like it's super accurate? How is that possible? Even with scraping it can't be done no?

Those platforms get accurate demographics because creators give them access. Without that, its mostly estimates scraping alone cant reveal real age, gender or location.
 
A lot of those platforms don’t pull that data from TikTok’s public API. They get it from creators who connect their account and grant access through an official login flow, or they get it through partner programs. Some also mix in modeled estimates based on audience behavior, content interactions, and panel data, so it looks “super accurate” even when it’s really an approximation. And some creators self report numbers too, then the platform normalizes it. So yes, scraping alone won’t reliably get true follower demographics at scale. If you need real data, you usually need creator opt in.

Yeah that's what I mentioned though, through the official APIs the demographics aren't really pulled TikTok themselves say that it isn't available to fetch even with login.

I saw in the official API that they don't offer demographics or maybe I could be wrong, do you have experience with actually making a developer app and connecting creators to get their data?
 
Most platforms get accurate demographics because creators connect their accounts and share TikTok analytics directly. For others, they estimate using AI + engagement signals and sometimes data partnerships pure scraping alone can’t give that level of accuracy.

without direct API access, any demographics are just guesses platforms control the real data.

They combine aggregated creator permissions with statistical modeling so while exact follower data isnt public, patterns and panels let them provide surprisingly detailed demographic estimates.
