how do i use gsa without getting penalized?

Pppl keep just saying 'you dont know how to use gsa' but dont offer any insight on best practices.

what casues you to get penalised with it?

i know i was just using the standard spam comments that come with gsa isdo i guess that is the first port of call.

What else? what platforms are a no no? i can guess some like forums and stuff, what else?

i use it only for tier 1 .. not direct,
 
I believe most people are having concern over its "article" posting.
I remember someone posted that big G is hunting down spun content.

I've been using GSA directly. Used to work wonders but later half of my total sites got hit. They are recovering back though.
So I can't say for sure if using GSA directly would be advisable. Perhaps if you use other platforms than article posting.
 
I don't own it..but I do suggest you use it only for tier 1 links.
 
There are some great suggestions at the GSA forum. You should take some time and read through those.

Personally, I've tested it with optimal settings as T1 backlinks and I've been pretty satisfied with results. Based on my experience, it's more about the content you use and the diversity of your anchors. And of course, velocity and limiting incoming bad links by proper utilization of filters.
 
Work only with tier1+, never use then to building links direct to your site.
 
It's all in the settings. I definitely agree, use only for tiered links, never directly to your site. For your tier 2 links:

  • Use well-spun content (preferably hand spun)
  • Don't use any of the generic settings. That means also hand-spin comments, etc.
  • Enter a TON of possibilities for anchor text.
  • Disable foreign language sites
  • Disable foreign language search engines
  • Use all the word filters
  • Disable blog comments, image comments, forum comments, microurls, redirects, guestbook posting, and all of the other crap. Basically for high tiers, just use wikis and articles. For lower tiers you can use other stuff

That's definitely not all there is to know, but it's a start.

For your links directly to your money site, you just need to be more selective on the sites you post to, and any spun content should all be done manually for the best results.

Just read everything on the GSA forum, especially from http://forum.gsa-online.de/profile/ron and http://forum.gsa-online.de/profile/LeeG, and you will be good.
 
Never use any software for first tier. Only manually is the best choice

Trever, I am giving up with UD and going with GSA for tier 1, I would rather churn and burn rather than the long game. Any advice for quick results on GSA? PM if you prefer?
