I have a website that sells collectible currency Iraqi Dinar and Vietnam Dong. I want to setup an affiliate program. I have seen Jrox but am super confused by how to use it. I put an ad on craigslit and had some guy wanting 50k to setup an affiliate program for me which is way out of my league. How much should I expect to pay someone to setup an affiliate program? How difficult would it be to do myself? Is it difficult to manage? Also what problems can I expect? I hear scammers like to buy stuff and return it or buy stuff with stolen credit cards and you wind up paying affiliate commissions before you know about it.

Basically I'm trying to determine if its something myself someone who's not super tech saavy can do myself or whether I have to pay someone or bring on a partner. I guess if I can't do it I'll probably try to find someone to setup and manage it and maybe do a 50/50 profit split on business brought in by the program

running an affiliate program in theory is very simple just have to make sure you the proper checks and balances in place to avoid fraud.

Find a way to watch for fraud (proeginix is what we use (sp?)
make your payments on time ALWAYS
find a peice of software to track sales, reliably. Not everyone needs something like nats.

I recommend eJunkie - you can sell pretty much anything and you're not restricted by value.
