How do I setup a google places business in a different state ?

I want to setup a business on google places but in a different state then where I live. How do I do that? I have to give a phone and address but what if that address doesn't exist yet ?

You can choose not to display the address in the google listing, I just did that today

Are we allowed to use 800 numbers ?

Yes I think thats the best option...really the only option these days.

You enter your address info to get the post card. Select the option not to display your address and than click the second bar to enter target areas you want to service. That way the post card goes to your house and if google is doing things right it will target your business to the desired areas.


And I just added listed an 877 number today so I would say yes but it won`t let me phone verify anymore so..I won`t know until I get the postcard.

Get a google number that is local and forward it to your number. You should be able to phone verify that way.

Google Voice only allows one phone number to be forwarded to your phone at a time. So how would you be able to phone verify any more than 2 Google Places listing for the same business? Even if you didn't disclose the address, you would need a different number to phone verify every one.
