How do I push to #1

I have been battling for top spot and seem stuck in the 3-5 range. I am using comments, forums and article submission links.

How to I get to #1? For some reason it seems like more links don't help anymore.

Can any give advice? Should I buy into a High Pr private blog network? Should I buy high pr blog links? What does it take to break the #3 barrier? Or do I just need to blow away at links and get more links?

I also want to add I think these links are okay but they are not that great. do i need super authority links?

I would suggest 1 High Quality Post a day and 1 High PR link to it, do this everyday and you'll definately see improvements.

Well get some link variety. Try in context blog links, wikis, edus, govs, etc. See if that helps! It just recently got me outta the sandbox.

Have you analyzed your competion? Do they have way more backlinks than you? How old are their sites? What sort of backlinks do they have?

Nobody can answer a question like what takes it to break the #3 barrier. This can't be answered in general. It varies from case to case.

my personal philosophy on the SERPs lately is that backlinks get you into the top 5-7, on page and on site gets you to the top 3.

obviously different for various markets, however I've found that I personally usually get the biggest gains when I focus on on-page at your stage.

If your onpage optimization is complete then what you might want to do is write some unique articles and submit different versions to 20 to 30 web 2.0 and wiki sites, then blast those articles with scrapebox.

Thanks good advice about on page optimization, i have done NONE. Maybe I will tweak that

I suggest that you must check first on how your competitor do their Link building, try to check from your top 1 competitor first, with that, you will know how did they do it their self, then you can have a solution on how you are going to rank up your site.

You can use scrapebox in checking out the backlinks for your competitors.

update your blog daily with high quality content, submit articles to top 20 articles directories regularly.

Thats what i do regularly.
