How do I monetise a german pregnancy site?

I am managing a german pregnancy site, where we offer coupons and free stuff for mothers in exchange for opt ins.

We have a sales team, which is working, but we would like to further monetise our traffic with affiliate.

So far we tried promoting ecommerce offers, where we get paid a % for each sale. Trouble is, the conversion rate is terrible. I think our users just want free stuff and incentives.

What would be the best way to monetise?

Eh I believe that amazon.de has a decent following in Germany. Why not affiliate link with Amazon products. Its clean trustworthy and they pay.
 
Try CPA baby care offers or ebooks promotion.
 
Our users are not buyers. We can not promote pay per sale offers, because our users just want free stuff. We did try lots of different ecommerce offers, including amazon.de. Its a waste of our traffic. I was thinking more like getting paid to generate leads or opt ins?
