How do I make my own affiliate scheme?

So I selk products in the UK, and so far its doing well. My question is, how do I create my own affiliate scheme on my website or do I outsource it to an online CPA like Commision Junction?

The big networks will charge you a hell of a lot, but give you great coverage. It also depends on what you're selling. Many sites use software called iDevAffiliate for their affiliate scheme, and it can be a decent first step into the market.

I'll have to agree with Cherub with iDevAffiliate. They have a lot of Affiliate training videos which are good for Affiliate Managers in general (such as yourself) and good for people that use their program.

It's more expensive than other Wordpress Affiliate plugins but for the long run, it is good.

I do recall there being an issue with it that I did not like. It may have something to do with campaigns. I like InfusionSoft becase I can have my own affiliate link and from that link, track the stats for individual campaigns by altering the link to something like domain.com/aff=101/Test2 or aff=101/NewLeads. This helps you better understand what is actually working instead of just seeing sales and not knowing exactly where they are coming from.

Having said that, if you do sell your own products, InfusionSoft is by far the way to go. You can create amazing auto-responders, send email, create affiliate applications, and many other things.

Thanks coyoteassasin, i will also look into that software. My campaigns are going to be more inline of pay per purchase and the higger the purchase the bigger the percentage of oayout they can get.

I will be testing them out and let you know how I get along.

My only suggestion is to thoroughly test the affiliate tracking tools before committing. You do not want to spend many hours getting the settings setup only to find that your Affiliates will have a difficult time with the system.
