How do I make money online?

Hey, before you laugh at the newbieness of this post here is what I have.

I have $400 dollars to invest (I'm not gonna put it all into one thing or throw it at the first idea, I'm a student and that took me a month or so to earn.)

I am currently at University in the UK and have written a complete plan of time I am available to work and how much time I can devote to IM. I spend 47 hours a week on my studies (including classes) and I have maintained this for around a month now and it is bearable. I have also managed to keep weekends completely clear, I haven't done a single piece of university work during them. Over the weekends I can mange to work 6-8 hours each day coming to around 12-16 hours a week. I also have constant access to computers and so if I need to redistribute my work load I can spend an hour or so over every week day to stay up to date on IM and just do some uni work on the weekends.

I have a personal twitter account with 35 thousand followers (probably nothing compared to you guys) to play with. I am going into this with no financial reliance on it, I have meals + accommodation + course resources sorted from my student loan and other loans, parents and grant. I have three years left of my economics degree and so that is the timeline I am working on. If in three years I'm not making a living through IM, I'll stop/tone it down and get my head stuck up the butt of a corporate bank.

I'm really looking for guidance/mentorship/help in getting started. Things/posts that you found useful so that I can absorb the information in them. I'm going to spend the first month simply researching and learning about different methods and would appreciate guidance on what to read so as to not waste my time. I'm not at all materialistic and I want to earn money to get on the property ladder as soon as possible.

You don't need money really - not in the game.

Read up on some methods, work out what you want to try.

Your twitter account is a great start, that may be a good place to begin. You clearly know what you're doing in that area... read up on some methods involving twitter. Really focus on growing it, spend 3/4 hour on sunday morning scheduling content to go up there through the next week.

You sound intelligent, I am sure you can do something good in IM.

As for mentorships, that won't happen.

But don't spend a penny of your cash, get researching and apply what you learn into your twitter account see what happens. Test and record everything. Monitor how many followers each tweet gets you, how many interactions it had, learn what your audience love so you can manipulate them into doing stuff that earns $$$. Thats the key to success.

My advice is to start reading a bunch of methods. When you find one that clicks/makes sense to you, especially if you see how you could improve on it, just start going. The biggest mistake you can make starting out is not sticking with something, many things start slow and as you invest time and tweak them your earnings take off. Trying one thing for a day or two then jumping to the next thing is how a lot of people fail. And remember, even if you only made a couple bucks that means its working you just have to figure out how to scale up what you're doing from there.

Another thing, I always start new methods by hand/manually. The scale is smaller but you are paying closer attention to everything and if you make a few bucks off it then you can figure out what tools/methods you can use to automate or scale it up from there and increase your earnings while, hopefully, decreasing your time input. This will also save you a lot of money. Nobody should be buying tools/guides when they're starting they should be working and learning from their mistakes and successes. Hosting and domain is about the only thing you should invest in when you start, if you need to buy a tool it should only be once you're making money with a method and see exactly what tool you need and how it will allow you to scale up your earnings with your current method. Don't fall for the marketing hype on all the fancy tools out there, unless you can see exactly how a tool will allow you to make more money on something you're already doing you don't need it, its not a money machine its just a tool you still need the exact method in action and working for you.

You could probably start earning right away with your Twitter account. You could promote CPA, products, use MyLikes/Skylikes, or even sell shout outs on Fiverr. That's a start.

While you got that going, I would suggest picking a method and sticking to it. Do you wanna build an Adsense website, or do you wanna promote Amazon products? Do you want to sell a service (like SEO, design, backlinks etc..) or do you wanna be the middle man and arbitrage it etc.. there is a lot of currently working methods. Pick one that suits you and go at it %110.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I shall start working on my twitter right away. Have you any suggestions on what/where/which program to schedule tweets with? I won't spend a penny and I shall get reading right away!

How is this relevant or even true in this instance?

Invest in some revenue sharing program mes and double your money

You can buy a domain and write articles based on your twitter followers niche.

I would guess the answer to your question is, you don't.

Money is only the reward of elbow grease you put into testing, experimenting. Social media platform are a good point to start, Instagram, Twitter Facebook go into a niche and engage with your audience. Find what your audience loves and give them more of it. Once your audience grow you will have the opportunity to earn money promoting CPA offers related to your niche.

I agree that trying to 'make it' online as a part-time entrepreneur is a totally unrealistic expectation for most people, and the answer to this question for most people is that they also don't make money online.

You can certainly supplement your income, or make some money while you are attending school, but for you to hit the big-time you will need to invest the same amount of time most successful people invest, which is essentially ALL their time. So, be a student and get your economics degree, and then get a job that pays off your loan like all the other smart college folk of the world.

If you say you got 16 hours per week available for your work, than why don't you try freelancing? Simply stick into content writing, you are a English Native speaker and as you are in university, it seems like you could definitely do that really professional and charge not less. Solid advice, but I'm in the UK, so I can leave university with my degree and not have to pay off my debt until I'm making money. Why not devote my spare time now to testing, experimenting etc and then when I leave I can start doing it full time with the expertise of 3 years work?
