How do you go about making Iphone apps?
You have to be member of the developer team - if you want to submit your app. Other then that, there are a few tools you can use and a lot of tutorials online.
A good start might be here:
Anyone can download the SDK and begin creating apps, but in order to publish them, there's a $99 fee. I cant remember if the $99 is one time, or annual.
There are people selling over 200.000 copies of applications for $3.99 or so on there however you need to know our code. Its not as easy as it seems for a newb.
Whats that man?
Can you do radio stuff that if a phone comes in range of another with the same app it can detect it and do something?
Would that be easy to do?
you have to code them in objective C or coco. i wanted to do this at one point and could.. if only i could manage to get the mac OS installed properly in VMware.
It means you need to be a programmer in order to develop complex applications. Its not as simple as html.
What do you mean easy? It might be easy for a software developer but not somebody who does not know sdk. By the way, I think the bluetooth on iphone can only be used for wireless headsets. So that's out of the way.
Have you got a Demonoid account? Search for PC leopard on there. I could not use it with VMware either but I did find the version that boots straight from your usb device providing that your PC is able to boot from usb.
It's a winner take-all market - you need to make it on the top 100 list to really bank. It helps to be a programmer, but you really don't need to be. Here's a book to get you started:
Is is not that difficult but takes time. Also you need to have a good idea for an app, there are 1000's which get buried and do nothing.
The app needs to be useful, unique or something off the wall gimmicky like the ibeer one.
I am a developer member and been working on a couple.
I DO have a good idea.
See that farting app?
That used to be a watch I sold when Eflay was starting out.THe watch had burp and other sounds too.
How many they sold of that farting app?
This soft seems easy enough:
Yeah but they were at number one selling app a few weeks ago
How about outsourcing to freelancers at elance or something?
iPhone app development isn't easy. I know a couple of fellow software engineers that have attempted it. There are plenty of people trying to get into the app market. You can really bank if you come up with something cool.
The accelerometer in the iphone can lead to some really cool interactive applications. Unfortunately, there are like 10 rock/paper/scissors apps already
So far, you have to develop in the Mac OSX environment. This entails emulation via vmware (which you can find help for on some torrent sites), installation on a pc (which is very hard), or having a real Mac. It could be worth the investment though.
Ahh to win the lottery so much simpler
